Speculation is he wants to follow Eason.

I just wonder what changed for him so late to want to transfer?
He liked Eason and Mason; both guys are gone now. It was his direct position coach and the guy who oversaw/controlled the side of the field he played on. That was enough to keep him here despite whatever way he felt about Harsin.
He could still be turned around, but it didn't sound too promising yesterday. The main thing that probably helps us is the timing - he's much more limited in terms of his ability to transfer and be immediately eligible than he would have been had this popped off a month ago.
And I mentioned during the whole investigation drama that there were still numerous players on the team who most definitely were not "pro Harsin". The idea that the team fully supported him was nonsense.

SO do we know which side of Harsin CW was on?
It seems strange that he got only 1 year w/ Eason, but if he really wants to transfer, that he doesn't want to be trained by JB? Or I guess i could be a combo of Mason/EAson that he liked and doesn't like the SChmed/JB combo coaching...
Is it possible he sees MAson/Eason as 5*?

What Wooden said on IG: “ All I'm gonna say is Mr. Auburn, Bo (Nix), left for a reason”
Posted on 2/15/22 at 2:54 pm to AUWDE
So he may not be on the Coach Harsin train.
But the Eli Gravett’s like him so all is well.
Wooden must be sAUft iyam.

Honestly if I don't give a flip what any pay site says anymore. As far as I'm concerned that can stay on the pay sites. Recruiting they get more right due to not actually being in the vacuum at Auburn. I feel like the only leakers at Auburn are rumor starters or bama biased fans/reporters

Does Caleb Wooden follow suit?

Departures/Newcomers (Per Marshmellow @247).. He has a weird way of measuring and ranking. (Average Player Rankings, which does not account for the number of transfers)
The raw numbers are more interesting to me.
Bama 17/3
Ole Miss 15/12
TAMU 8/1
USCe 12/7
Arkie 17/6
Florida 9/7
MSU 19/6
Vandy 16/3
Mizzou 12/9
Kentucky 14/5
Auburn 20/5
LSU 12/13
UT 14/4
UGA 8/0

He has also tried to down play the transfer situation. It's mind boggling

I see what you mean but it really needs context to make anything out of it.
Bama 17/3
Auburn 20/5
These are the example of that. Bama needed to lose 17 players after signing a full class and bringing in 3 transfers.Auburn, however, did not need to lose 20
I think that’s why Marcelo set up his ranking that way. But I’d say it ignores too much to be useful. Most importantly, what’s happening on the roster outside of the pure in:out. I’d rather be LSU than Auburn, probably.

Edit-- Wooden is staying per Phillip Dukes

He’s kind of stuck right now anyway. Curious to see if this becomes an ongoing storyline or if it’s over

Exactly. They "lost" 17, most of whom were buried on the depth chart and weren't expected to play. The Drew Sanders kid is the only one I remember off the top of my head that looks promising, and even he left because he got bypassed on the depth chart. The 3 they brought in (Burton, Gibbs, Ricks) were literally the top players at their respective position in the Portal (Burton is debatable with Mario Williams - they're 1A and 1B). They signed the #2 ranked HS class in the country. So they processed a bunch of guys who weren't expected to contribute, to make room for a new wave of potential studs.
That is a completely different situation than what is happening here. Yes, there was an initial wave of guys who left because they were buried on the depth chart, but we've moved past that and have started losing guys who played and/or were expected to play major snaps next season. And there hasn't been anything done to replace that depth. So we're bleeding talent and depth off of an already weak team, and it's being replaced by a just "acceptable" 2022 HS class and an initial
Portal class that is light, and which missed on several obvious areas of need. It's not a good situation at all. The highly contested guys they DID go after in the Portal, literally all signed elsewhere.
They're going to bring in a bunch of post-spring Portal guys, but at this point barring a significant change in recruiting, I don't expect those guys to be "upgrades" to what we lost. Shortly before the whole Harsin drama popped off, Jeff Lee listed a name of a new Edge target they were seriously pursuing from the Portal - the kid is a 5th year Senior who was a backup for Washington State and never put up more than 2.5 sacks in a single season. That's not going to be good enough at this level, to fix this football team. The Asante kid they took at LB was literally a backup at North Carolina.
Auburn vs. Alabama in the Portal isn't even remotely comparable. It's a completely intellectually dishonest argument to suggest otherwise.

Metafour stop making so much sense. Makes my head hurt. We can only deal in emotions and want on here.

Wooden staying. Lol at our fake insiders on this board. Gfy

Anyone not concerned about how we have fared in the transfer portal is being dishonest or in denial. It is definitely a concern when even Mizzou has added significant help to their recruiting.
I honestly was expecting way more signees in the portal of significance to offset all that had left and some of the misses in recruiting. I feel even more uncomfortable with where our OL sits today and lack of help at WR. For those of you who support Harsin as I do it’s okay to still recognize the weaknesses and areas of concern.
