And looking at it after half time, i can't believe much was sold on concessions

I usually spend $50 at every game on concessions. Food. My kids are little pain in the asses at the game. LOL. Also, I purchased a ugly gray sweatshirt Saturday at half time to wear under my light weight jacket. I was freezing.

didn't you say the tickets were already sold? I'm saying the folks that bought them (again, myself included) are not going to come to games.

Yeah and believe it or not, 85,000 were used last Saturday night. The bookstores were still packed before the game, tailgaters still out and about, and Auburn was crowded. Maybe not much of an excited feeling about the town but people were here and game day went on like usual. The same will happen for UGA weekend.

Good you don't have to come and frankly if you don't want to be here I suggest you don't come. Auburn will make money UGA weekend whether you're here or not.

ETA: And it will be enough money for AU and the community to make a profit.

I have a feeling the game Sat and the AA&M games will be a couple of the most poorly attended games since the 1970's unfortunately.

I know a lot of students that are going home instead of watching what might be our second win of the season.

I'll take it one step further..

87k fans spend just 15 dollars each, that's around 1.3 million in revenue. Half of that is around 652k.. The amount his buyout drops in December is miniscule.

The impact on not only the University, but Auburn/Opelika is pretty huge from an economic stand point. If you factor in things like gas sales, hotel rooms, restaurants, trips to Walmart, ect. The loss of sales tax revenue has got to be huge for the area. PP has a very valid point on this....

You seem pretty confident. I am less confident.

Well i guess snarky is the way we're going to discuss this from here on out

My point is simple, finacially it' doesn't make any sense to keep him until december.

I made every game (as a student) during the awful 1998 season.

I suck as a fan now though as I rarely make a game. About 1 every other year for the past several years. Of course, I live in Cuba so I do have that excuse.

What? A 15 hr drive isn't worth coming to see our mighty Tigers play?

And if you made it to every game in 1998, you deserve some kind of medal....it was brutal.

Look, we're going to get beat by Bama, and it will be bad. But I don't even want to think about what will happen if Chiz is still on the sideline. Saban will run it up on us, and it could be 60-0.

Personally, I'd like someone else leading the team into the Iron Bowl just to have a fresh voice (whatever that's worth).

That's what I'm saying. If the only reason to keep Chiz around until December is because his buyout drops 200k, then it's a flawed reason. Keeping him is going to cost the university a whole lot more that 200k just in lost revenue from game day.

Not so much. More like a 2-3 hour task of getting to airport, airport parking, security/checkin, followed by a 2 hour flight to Atl, followed by a 1.5 hour drive to AU - maybe tailgate / game - repeat in reverse.

Yep, all of em. Didn't miss a home game (that I am aware of) from sometime in the 80's until early 2000's. Course the games in the 80's, I was just a kid, my parents started taking me when I was 2 years old so I didn't have a choice for a while there.

Don't fire him until 12/01, but start openly looking for coaches NOW. If CGC does not like this he can always quit and walk away from the 7.5 million.

Sorry to barge into your office, Gene, but coach Petrino wanted to take a look to see how well his desk would fit in here.
