I’d say after reading their message boards the honeymoon is over. Significant faction already want change.

of course Judkins is no where near as effective this year

2022: 21 carries for 120 yards per game
2023: 18.5 carries for 85 yards per game

The UCF defense is really poor, giving up over 400 yards/game. The man is just stubborn as hell with his offense and refuses to change. The play calling continues to be obvious and it looks exactly the same as it was here. I thought he would recruit a bit better than he has this far in FL, but see they have a pretty decent class lined up this year.

In my opinion, UCF wasn’t ready for the Big 12. But still, Gus has always been a pretty average coach. Chizik was a phenomenal recruiter, and the addition of Nick Marshall made 2013 a perfect storm. Outside of 2013, Gus was 56-33 (31-26 SEC play). That’s very average.

Gus never felt the need to recruit OL.

That makes every season a “let’s see what we have” guesswork. Because you need the most elite skill players in the nation to cover up the lack of OL.

When you have Cam, Nick Marshall, and Tre Mason - you can win games.

When you don’t have the horses - you get the Gus bus.

I semi-seriously believe that Gus doesn't care about winning unless he can win in some way that brings glory to his high school offensive brilliance

Just riding a hot player to a win or pounding away with whatever calls are shown to work bores him, I'm convinced of it.

Gus is the definition of average. Maddening to watch.

Very true but we also had fairly decent line play in those championship seasons.

This is it. Gus is the same as when he left here. He’d be better in a smaller conference. That step up this year is hitting him hard.

Branden Smith, Austin Gholson, Nick Brahms, Austin Troxell, Broadarious Hamm, Markell Harrell, Jack Driscoll, Mike Horton, Prince Tega, Tashawn Manning, Calvin Ashley, Darius James.

It’s crazy how high some of these guys recruited/transferred in since 2013 pretty sure Ashley and James were both 5 stars too

Holy shite.

Edit: I wonder if the penitentiary is as amazed of his backflip on the ground as the CBS crew was during those games.

"Greg Robinson is incredibly athletic, here look at him do a back roll, and this is why he is projected to be a top NFL pic,"
