The SEC needs to fine Oklahoma and suspend coaches

The SEC had informed the teams about the Unsportsmanship tactic of deceit plays, before the season. Oklahoma admitted the substitution play was intentional. It was a designed play.
Before a game, the Umpire and White Hat visits each team’s coaching staff. Trick plays are discussed, protective padding discussed. We get a laundry list of what I refer to as crazy before each game.
What was the crew told before the game, about this play? We’ve informed coaches in multiple games that a play design was illegal and the officiating crew would be prepared for the play.
For Oklahoma to admit this was a designed play after being informed at the start of the season it was illegal, means this was intentional. Fine Oklahoma and suspend the Offensive Cordinator for intentionally violating league rules. You can’t change the outcome, but you sure as hell make the league aware that intentionally violating points of interest before and during the season will cost the school. Guess what SEC? 150,000 for storming the field isn’t good enough.

And their theft of a win vacated

They will never do that. But a stiff fine will get their attention.

I heard a rumor I haven’t checked but did Arbuckle flip the bird to the AU coaches after that play?
You can’t suspend the OC. The head coach is responsible for his team so that would be BV.

He flipped the bird, at who specifically is hard to tell. Could be AU players, could be the refs, could be coaches, haven't seen a wide shot of it. He is largely angled at the endzone though it seemed, so my guess is it was at a playe or ref.

Man what a shite show.

Even more, he flipped the bird doing the "suck it" sign too.

lol. Wow.
The SEC will handle it and we will never know about it. Of course they will

If you include the two pick plays they were penalized for, that is additional illegal play they coached and called on defensive side. I definitely think OU coaching staff needs to be heavily fined and possible suspension for one game

A lot to work through here, there should be something to hold them more accountable for this kind of error.

I disagree with Pate.
We don’t need to have windows broken or cars vandalized because some idiot lost $1,000 bucks on a football game.
When we leave a field at halftime or the end of the game, we leave in silence. One word taken out of context by the press or bystander can mean harm to us or our family.
Thus the league assures us that they hold the bag. Trouble is the person swinging the big stick rarely enforces what we are demanded to follow.
So what are you going to do? Execute game officials at the fifty or half court? You eventually run out of zebras and the herd is thin enough as it is.

It is a tough job. I would suggest taking a look at how missed blatant calls were made. If many then that one needs to be suspended from calling a game or two depending upon how bad it was. If over a season then not allowed to ref again in the league. Of course reward the good ones. I think the SEC should have full time pros doing it. It has enough money to pay these guys a decent salary along with benefits.

They are graded every game. I did semi pro in Florida. We were graded every game by the NFL. In order to get in, had to do a full day orientation in Orlando. Make the grade, see ya next week.

It’s not that hard with replay and guys in the box. They all have ear pieces in. They all know. It’s by choice in my view. They could have easily huddled up after that play and thrown the flag. They could have easily thrown the PI flag as well though that is a judgement play for sure and harder to throw a flag after review but you could always huddle up and over turn a PI

Didn't we have a replay after a play had run just two weeks ago?
As in the zebra's (to use a PC term) nullified a play that had been successfully completed and then decided to make a change. I'm not sure if elapsed time was even put back on the clock.... no where but against Auburn !!!!.

Yes. We had a delay of game after a play. After the delay of game was called, the refs stopped play, to review the play prior to the delay of game. Legally can’t do that. The play clock had already expired, the play was done.

So we're supposed to bend over, take it from behind, and then say thank you for your time and effort?
I've known and met SEC referees, and I know guys who have repeatedly tried to become one, and no one is making light of the honest hard working. However the job at this level involves making multi-million dollar decisions and it's not just altering some kid's future bragging rights.
Not when this type of money is on the line....
And not when irregularity becomes regular....
And not when we're told to pretend that wrongs can be righted.. . .
Because it's become the norm not the exception. And other sports have figured a way to handle post-game protest besides not allowing any. And to hide behind the, oh my job is hard or I wouldn't do that, is not only unethical it's rubber stamping these illegalities. Because what they did may indeed be criminal. And to say "Dorothy wake up, we're not in Kansas any more", is a fairy tale answer. And those who say it's always been this way are just as culpable, as is the piece of shite coach, as is the bird flipping thug, as is the referee who's in over his head, as is the dirty bastards that throw games, as is those who say oh'well it happens to everyone.

You act as if this level is a profession. It’s nothing more than a hobby. I was six months away from being put on the field. Making my way through the gauntlet to be on Saturdays. At the same time a job offer fell into my lap putting over 80,000 additional dollars in the household. I chose the profession over the hobby. Travel interfering with Saturday assignments. Until the SEC decides to consider stripes as important as the players….the stripes will remain as a hobby.
Gives you something to complain about you can’t solve.
So, we’ll live with officials that don’t know how to use the rules.
