Hate to say it Corch but Samir did not even improve.

2019-2020
Samir Doughty- Significant regression from the field, and slight regression from 3. True shooting percentage declined from 59% to 55%.

J'von Mccormick shot 30% from 3. The previous year he barely shot any threes and made .500% of his attempts. His True Shooting Percentage declined from 58% to 47% as his three point attempt rate shot up from 16% of the time to 30% of the time.

2020-2021
Turbo Jones- Miss
Shariffe Jones- excellent distributor, 22% shooter from 3
Devan Cambridge 28% shooter with bigger minutes. 3 point percentage regressing
Justin Powell (44% shooter in 7 games) got mad and left blasting our offense for not allowing shooters to get open.
Jamal Johnson- FG percentage, True shooting percentage, and 3 point percantage all declined
-Allen Flanigan started out hot.
Team 3 point percentage- 33% on an enormous 28 attempts per game.

2021-2022
Jabari Smith- Shot like a pro.
Jaylin Williams started shootiing better.
Zep Jasper nailed 37% of his threes on 71 attempts for the year. Horrible 2 point percentage.
Wendy- nailed 32% of his threes. Played pretty decent.
The rest of the players shot sub 30%. Cambridge shot 22% and kept on shooting. KD regressed from his numbers at Georgia by a long margin and Kessler shot 20% from 3. With better 3 point shooting we might win the national championship this year.
Team 31.8% 3 point shooting percentage- 274th in the country

2022-2023 Post players production fell.
-Wendy regressed from a 32% shooter to a 29% shooter
-Zep regressed from a 37% 3 point shooter to a 28% shooter and lost confidence in shooting everything.
-Tre Donaldson shot 41% to begin his career
-Slight uptick in improvement from KD, Jaylin Williams, and Cambridge but they did not do enough to move the needle.
-Team Miss on Traore and Chance Westry
Team 31.5% 3 point shooting percentage, 320th in the country

Team 2023-2024 Productive shooting year
-KD Johnson and Aden Holloway dragged down our shooting percentage by attempting 15 threes per 40 minutes between the two.
-Denver Jones and Chad Baker Mazara improved our three point shooting in leaps and bounds.
-Aden defected
- Jaylin continued gradual progression
-Jonni improved his 3 point shooting percentage from 29% to 36%
-Chris Moore's offense regressed
Team shot 35% from 3 on 22 attempts per game

2024-2025
Team shot 36% from 3 three again on higher volume, 25 attempts per game.
Transfers responsible for the majority of the points and offensive production
JP Pegues- Miss
Jahki Howard Miss

We've been on a pretty horifically bad slump the last two games but we were rarely a very efficient 3pt shooting team over the last decade. A few outliers but every year we would complain about how cold we would get from the field, we've just in recent years had the defense to deal with it until we got hot again and go on a run.

On this year's team.. Hall's shot is flat out janky and Overton shoots from his hip. These guys can get hot but will never by high percentage shooters. Pet has a decent looking shot, but he will always be more of a scorer than a shooter. Of the guards and wings, the best looking shots/shooters IMO are Freeman and Walker. Murphy has a good 'big man shot'. Freeman seems to get the most open looks for whatever reason, but our offense does not seem to get shooters open.

3 point shooting hovering around 35% spell great years. Championship years of some kind.

Shooting hovering around 31 percent and the lows are pretty very common. With each game our shooting numbers are dwindling from 34% and higher to 32 percent.

Right now there is little threat for a dribble drive except for what Hall can do himself. Pettiford is not as great at the dribble drive in half court sets but he can drive to get a mid range shot decently well. But still, he is not driving deep enough into the paint to kick the ball to open three point shooters forcing longer defensive closeouts. The three point shooting off the bounce is abysmal. Overton had been decent at spot shooting 3 point attmpts up to this point, but he has no game right night now.

On top of that the young guys- Walker Bashir, Magwood, and Walker appear to be misses.

It's not a coincidence that our shooting began to suffer when Chuck Person was indicted.

Yep was saying it last night, but its beyond time to hire a shooting coach. People are right that we take bad 3's and a lot of them are dribble and shoot instead of catch and shoot.. but we still miss too many open shots and certain players don't have great shooting forms and its been that way for years. Go to one of these small schools that has 5 white kids shooting lights out and hire their coach as some kind of assistant.
