They broke it down at halftime of the IF game and Dan Merlin’s was like how hell do you get man coverage when you rush 3? We had man coverage on the outside and the middle was double up. He and Galloway didn’t understand why we didn’t play zone behind the 3 man rush.

That's been the biggest issue I've had with the coaching staff this year. No one ever seems to be on the same page. There needs to be some unity or freeze needs to take control of his team. Got to get everything fundamentally sound in order to win.

Let’s also not forget Crime Dawg stepped away for personal reasons from on the field coaching. Wonder if the personal difference was with Ron?

The call was arse but bro should have been looking for the ball too. Just sloppy all the way around. It shows often that our staff is from Liberty and our Auburn players

Eh, we were kind of in Zone. Puckett found himself in no-man’s land. He drifted inside and left 1v1 on the outside. He was guarding nobody and helping nobody. With that many back, you can play some man and have rovers in zone. Our guys just failed, all there is to it in that play. Pucket should have been helping bracket that receiver. There were others inside, he just got out of position.

The number one thing that could not happen was to let the receiver get behind you as a defender. You outnumber the receivers. Dont let him get behind you
And that is exactly what he did. Got behind us

Regardless of everything else, shitty play call included, this game all came down to one play. A muffed punt. We had done everything else well enough to win that ball game. It sucks, but it is what it is. We catch that punt, we most likely win the ball game. Blame who you want in your emotion, but unfortunately it’s just a shitty play by a player that loses the game. Such is sport. We looked badass as frick all night. Proud of our boys. Many of them found their balls tonight. I have more confidence moving forward after that game than l I did before it. We comin.

I dont agree. The muffed snap made up for the dropped punt. ONce we had them backed up to the 31, there is no way they should have scored. Just rush 3 and dont let anyone get behind you. It was not a lucky hail mary.
We did the one thing that we couldnt do and failed
The dropped punt sucked and hurt but the last play set up with the dagger

But none of that would have happened. The absolute biggest difference in the game was that dropped punt. That’s a fact. It’s a hard thing to come to terms with, but that was the game.

Honestly forgot about that shite because I was so pissed at how we fricked up the last defensive play call.

I am certainly not excusing that. That play call will haunt me for decades. fricking disgusting.

quote:I believe that was Koy Moore's second muffed punt in an Iron Bowl iirc. Criminal that he was in the game in the first place.
The absolute biggest difference in the game was that dropped punt.

Or the missed intentional grounding. Which was another in a long line of (end of) game changing what if's.

From Reddit:
Alabama’s 31 yard TD to beat Auburn may be the longest 4th down conversion in college football history. If true, Hugh Freeze was the opposing coach on the 1st and 2nd longest 4th downs converted.
Arkansas 4 and 25 conversion against Ole Miss.

Am I to believe that Freeze didn't know that was Moore that fumbled the ball until the reporter told him in the presser? What did Auburn fans do to deserve this clown world.
Posted on 11/25/23 at 9:48 pm to jangalang
In his defense, ESPN still doesn’t know it was Moore. Stats say Scott fumbled it.

They had plenty of time to get the ball back even after the muff, we had 4th and goal from the 31 and blew it. Everything else is am afterthought
