We’re in a shitty situation either way. I’ve kinda just tuned out football stuff for now.

Check every now and then to see if something big happened but that’s about it.

680 the fan just said that by the end of the business day on Monday. I guess that’s pretty imminent . Still don’t know any grounds for firing. He missed this or that meeting allegedly, and didn’t stroke somebody the right way. Big deal. You hired the man let him do his job.

Maybe it does, but not sure why COVID would cause us more adversity than other teams. In other words wouldn't that impact both us and every team we play?

I'd expect him to take some amount of settlement. The school asking for a settlement probably means they have something. May not be him being inappropriate with his staffer but could be as simple as a bunch of individual things like formal complaints from coaches/staff/players and not attending events etc...

It won't end with the firing. Then we have a coaching search! Talk about glued to screen. There is not much better than an Auburn coaching search.

Same. I set a Twitter alert notification for anything Phillip Marshall tweets figuring he would try to be the first to put it out.

I didn’t even follow him before setting up and might unfollow after this week.

List of things better than an Auburn coaching search (in order):

Sex
a Tennessee coaching search

You didn’t have the same thoughts about the recruiting dead period?

Fact of the matter is recruiters know how to recruit.

Cristobal arrived at Miami and UM was ranked in the 70’s. They finished at 15.

Just recruit well already. It’s that simple

You hear constantly that it take years to get those recruiting rankings up. But, there are coaches, like with Cristobal, that can make an immediate impact. That is what we should be looking for.

Yea if he had filled his staff with great recruiters and then got along with them maybe he would have had a chance...

At this point I don't know how he possibly recruits going forward.

Honestly, this is genius. No one will know straight from the money people like that guy.

That would’ve been preferable.
It’s not like recruiting is lost going forward; It’s been a lost cause since he got here.

Yep - I think there's a big difference depending on program... At programs with a lot of historic success, but a few down years, recruiting can turn around in a hurry. Think Alabama with Saban, Cristobal with UM, I bet you USCw will bounce back insanely next year. I think we fall in this category.

For a more middle of the pack program like Purdue, for example, to rise in the rankings it takes years.

Yep I agree with this. No reason we can't bounce back with some stability. Harsin just wasn't the guy it seems.

Miami was smart enough to hire a great coach and recruiter. Auburn boosters want someone in their back pocket. We will end up with damn Steele or worse.

I get that they need to say something, but that statement raises more questions than answers. This is awful.

It really isn’t that vague. It means Harsin is fricked.

They aren’t investigating because of the Montgomery advertiser or because of Discord. They are investigating because of complaints from within.
