In no way is Lemonier a 3-4 DE. Not in his or your wildest dreams. Whitaker can't take on blockers 1-on-1 let alone occupy 2 guys. Ford = better in weight room than field, but could convert of OLB. LO = OLB whether he likes it or not.
Blackson is a 3-4 DE, and Nero, too, probably. And Liner, if he comes. Maybe Sigler?

Good point... I feel like Ford may be able to pull it off, though.
Moving Lemonier to Jack seems like a sick idea.

Not to mention we'd be placing a large number of players on the field at the same time from a unit (LB corp) that has literally no depth. We would definitely suffer next year but it may pay off in the long run.
Part of the reason I like Patterson is the 4-2-5 defense would help to hide our lack of quality LB depth for a season or two.

TCU has vowed to beat any offer from any school. Doesn't mean he wouldn't take another job according to PM.

Which might be the reason he said a season or two...

We surely can outspend TCU...right?

I've heard TCU has a ton of money

Not necessarily. They are loaded with deep pockets. For Patterson to leave for any job, it won't be due to outbidding TCU. More about challenge, etc.

TCU is loaded. I watched their game yesterday and 6 families donated $15M a piece to redo the stadium.

Dang. Never mind then. I was wrong about TCU's alumni...

Texas = oil money. Every university there probably has some big oil boosters.

For Patterson it will not be a decision of money. He already makes a ton. I am not saying he will leave TCU but I do not think it will be a money decision.
No amount of money will turn TCU into Auburn. In the Big 12 TCU will always be the underdog or little guy fighting the bigs. TCU will never recruit like Texas or TAMU, but at Auburn he can pull top 10 recruiting classes and fight the bigs boys on an even playing field.

I agree. I will add Fort Worth is a very nice place. I absolutely love the downtown area. Spent a month working and staying at the Marriott downtown and loved it. Incredibly clean, super nice downtown. Never seen a downtown area in a city that was so clean and nice. Good people there too. Friendly down to earth Texans.

you might as well just tell everyone you know nothing about football.
Whitaker would be a DE in a 34, so owuld Gabe Wright. Blackson is about the closest thing we have to a NT.
Lemoiner and Ford would both be OLB in a 3-4.

Our shot with Patterson ended in 2008 when Jacobs hired Chizik. Why would a coach come to Auburn when he can make the same amount of money risk-free at a school that loves him and he probably has a better chance to be successful at? Some of you need to take a realistic pill. Coaches don't look for jobs that have more problems then the one they're already at for the same amount of money.

And some coaches don't coach for the money.
