Mark Stoops to UK is official.

And before anyone says something, this is not the brother that was at Arizona. That would be Mike.

I would be excited about Patterson, but I'm not sold on him just yet. His defenses have gotten lit up a few times recently

50 vs Baylor 2011
40 vs SMU 2011
37 vs Iowa St 2012
56 vs Texas Tech 2012
36 vs Okie St 2012

I understand the years he had in 2009 and 2010, and he'd have more talent here. I'm just saying I'm not 100% sold he's a defensive mastermind

I'm not as worried about Patterson.

Baylor's offense was pretty prolific that year. As for SMU, I'll allow him one screw-up.

For all the 2012 games listed, we may be tired of hearing it, but.....he has a young team. And they got better as the year went on.

Keep in mind it's TCU. They're supposed to be god-awful. Before Patterson, there was no way in hell they'd beat teams like Texas and Oklahoma.

They weren't terrible before Patterson got there... no doubt he's taken them to their highest marks in 60 years, but they had some pretty good teams with LT and Franchione... it's not like they were UAB or something.

Kige chimes in on Auburns coaching search.

@ScottR334
Bobby Petrino is one step closer to landing the #Auburn job. Again, Malzahn is the backup plan.

This goob on 97.3 the Zone (Max something) is saying his sources confirmed that Petrino is no longer in the hunt for the AU job. Petrino is looking at Cal.

Malzahn being our No. 2 choice is an epic fail. So much for our "search committee."

He also says UT is in talks with Bob Stoops and Arky is in talks with Peterson. Said Franklin (Vandy) is ready to take the job,if Peterson doesn't.

Scott Reaves aka sportstalk founder of AuburnEagle. He has, in the past, had good information on recruiting but I personally wouldn't put too much stock into what he says concerning the coaching search.

ETA: Has anybody heard about a meeting between Slive and Petrino where Slive gave SEC schools his blessing to hire Petrino?

If Petrino's the guy, just wrap him up already. All this waiting is making me nervous.
