Wonder how hard Auburn Auburns with this hire?

I mean back-to-back. Can we make it a 3peat?

Im going to believe in the new coach unless he starts losing like Freeze. I have faith that we will Win the playoffs with out next coach until he proves otherwise. Its 50/50 that hes a winner at Auburn or he's not. No reason to proclaim the latter until I see it.

Curious how everyone would rank the open jobs?

Most outlets have us at the #4 job opening behind LSU, UF and Penn State

I don’t see a huge difference in any of the main 4

Maybe lsu by a smidge, but with their current situation with the governor who knows what’s going on. I think us, pedoU and Florida all very close.

Auburn is the number 4 iob but nobody wants to coach knowing they have to face Georgia and Bama every season.

The Georgia - Bama thing isn’t nearly as daunting as it was 3 years ago. They are still top flight for sure but they are so much more gettable

These coaches aren’t pussies. They don’t care about having to face anyone. Especially with the 9 game conference schedule now. Youre gonna have 4-5 top 25 teams at least every year if you’re in the SEC

All are very good jobs, but right now, in coaching circles (not in the media world) Penn State and Auburn are slightly ahead of LSU and Florida.

Well run NIL programs have nullified recruiting advantages of the past.

Penn State, for the time being, really only has to worry about OSU and Indiana. They are very committed financially, and the renovations to the stadium will make the facility off the chart.

Right now, LSU doesn't have an AD, and obviously the governor is a ridiculous big mouth. As whole, the state is very poor and there is no easy, uber wealth to call on. To be clear, in the recruiting era, this would have always been an easy #1 type job. Baton Rouge is a crappy place to live.

UF - for whatever reason they lag behind on financial support. Having Spurrier down the hall from the coach is not helpful. The passion for football at Florida field has been off for quite some time - lots of empty seats at times. With free school with a state lottery program, UF is now a nerd school.

AU - Great financial support, superior home field advantage, AD who had been in the trenches as an SEC coach, not as much media pressure, immediately - above average talent in place!

I think LSU and Florida are a step above us and PSU. They are both state schools in the SEC and both are talent rich states.

That said, I think we are actually a better job than Penn State by a smidge. Penn State, before Franklin, had like 5 coaches in 70 years or something. They are starting to turnover coaches now too so that stability isn't their selling point anymore.

If Auburn players stay put and we get a good coach, this team is really close to a playoff team next year. It is hard to see with the offensive output of this year, but a few portal linemen and some coaching and this is a top 5 team now.

Glad he’s gone, but yall celebrating like Auburn will get it right with a new hire.

It's not our fault you're too stupid to realize a guy who can actually coach would have had this team in the playoffs.
