They want the 4 best teams... Auburn was obviously one of the four best teams in 2017, yet no invite.

Auburn was up until the SECcg loss and I think everyone agreed that had Auburn won, they would have been a two-loss team in the playoffs.

If it all worked it’s way out that the last spot was between a 1 loss Oregon, and a 2 loss Auburn, I’d be very interested to see what the committee does there.

The 4 best teams is such a dumb arse statement. You don’t know who the 4 best teams are until the freakin play.

They need to quit rewarding bs out of conference schedule when the conf schedule is weak. Bama has been feasting on UT and the Dukes of the work lately. It’s the Clemson approach.

At the end of the day, if you don’t win your conference you should be out. They have 5 conferences and some independents to pick 4

That’s how t should be done

Conference championships should be seen as the first round of the playoffs.

Bama has literally been rewarded with a bye week for losing, as seen in 2017.

It really is an asinine statement, in 2017 we beat the top ranked team 2 out of the last 3 weeks and have to play another top 3 ranked team( Georgia again) 3 out of our last 4 games. While bama sat at home and gets a bye to the playoffs. If people can’t see how retarded this is then there’s not much else to say. If the criteria is the best team should be in the playoffs then auburn should’ve been there in 2017. With a healthy Keryonn, we beat any of those teams.

Agree with all that, UGA ranked #4, after losing at home to SC, despite being a 24.5pt favorite is laughable.

BUT we are in a great spot to ruin the hopes and dreams of both UGA and Bama. The two losses to LSU and UF suck, but I’m pumped about this game. Still a lot of football left, win convincingly and see what happens.

People should accept that winning a national title doesn't mean you are the best team, instead you are simply the champion for that season.

The criteria to get in the playoff should be objective. Who cares what any person thinks about who is best or better or deserving.

Yeah let’s keep two great SEC teams out because a shitty Oklahoma or Utah team won their shite conference

At the end of the day you really don't know if the two SEC teams are great. In 2017 Okie was an eyelash from beating uga...if they played 10 times Okie likely wins 6 of them. It's stupid to leave the championship up to human interpretation. Just set objective criteria and live with it.

FYI I'd be ok with 8 and 3 subjective choices also, but it would still leave it up to human ignorance. And more importantly human beings who are highly susceptible to making choices on predisposed ideology.

Nvm

I don’t think the committee has gotten the final four wrong yet. People overreact to rankings

Yeah and those two great teams were in the playoff, by your criteria they never would have played. Wtf?

That's because I don't care if two "great" teams play...I care that the teams playing earned their way in...that season bama ended up beating uga but bama didn't earn their way in to the CFP. If you had put a team in that had earned it it wouldn't have hampered the success of that CFP nor the enjoyment of it.

The committee doesn't have to get it wrong or right. They shouldn't have a voice.

The real issue is the lack of standardized scheduling in college football. Would be a whole lot easier to identify the best 4 teams if something like this was considered:

8 conference games, 2 power 5 OOC, 2 group of 5.

OR

9 conference games, 2 power 5 OOC, 1 group of 5.

Still wouldn't be perfect but more real data to work with would generate a better understanding of which teams are the best.

Meh. UCF didn’t “earn” their way in either.

To be fair without criteria we don't really know if that is true or not. I do know that your opinion or my opinion or anyone's opinion doesn't mean a damn thing other than we have an opinion. A championship shouldn't be decided in that manner.

Create criteria and live with it...winning a title doesn't mean best it means champion. If we'd of won the basketball championship last year only a fool would have believed we were the "best" team in basketball, but it wouldn't have changed the fact that we were champions.
