I really wish we would bring in a shooting coach. This isnt a one year deal its going on 3 -4 years now of stuggling to shoot.

My gosh I can’t stand Buzz. He was literally jumping up and down in the middle of the court trying to call a timeout. I’ve never seen anything like it with him and the refs never call him on it.

Terrible matchup for us. Athletic bigs. Big guards that can score. Nothing more nothing less in my opinion. Granted we do looked slow and mentally out of it today. Grind catches all teams. Got us today for sure

Not a single aspect of the game was positive today.
Just a bad performance from everyone.
Hopefully got that out of our system and it will be a wakeup call.
UT suffered the same fate tonight at A&M.
It is almost certainly coming for the turds and SC in a road game before season's end.

Long way to go in the conference season. Bama and UT still play again, Auburn and UT play. Auburn has a difficult next 5 or so games. Bama has some tough games. UT has some tough games. Whoever can get to 14-4 probably wins it. Not sure any of the 4 can definitely do that. South Carolina’s schedule cranks up as well. Gonna be a battle boys.

I wonder if Vols fans are melting down about their guards getting outplayed and saying their team has a clear ceiling and there isn’t much of a point in watching any further

We get a week off before the Georgia road game.

Will we perform like Florida did?

We struggle with size.
We are not a good perimeter shooting team in general, but the free throw shooting yesterday was pathetic.

Hopefully, we will perform better the next game.

Bruce didn’t like Florida getting a week off and the first game back is at home. Florida looked fresh and dialed in. Todd Golden had an entire week to scout and game plan to get a huge home win against a ranked team.

This is the first year in a while the SEC schedule has had bye’s. Usually there was the weekend reserved for B12/SEC challenge but there was no break in the season. I like it in theory but there will be some years you get screwed with how it plays out. We played horrendously yesterday but we probably would have had to be dang near perfect to win

Those were, frankly, embarrassing comments from Bruce.

I don’t disagree. Bruce is the only coach who is always going to say exactly what he is thinking. Every coach would be thinking the same thing there, but sometimes I’d prefer to hear the coach speak answer.

Yeah not really needed in the post game presser. Still adds some context to the asskicking.

Get out of here with that. We’re just here to bitch and moan because our basketball team sucks/doesn’t play hard/is coached poorly/(insert whatever else here). We’re clearly a terrible team that might as well pack it in and reside ourselves to perpetual mediocrity.

Seems like half the folks in this thread weren’t around for Barbee and Lebo, and it shows.

I’ve been around since Sonny was coaching. I’ve seen it all the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. That’s why I refuse to overthink any win or loss. I’m just glad to finally have a competitive basketball team. It sucked going 5-13 each year with no shot of even sniffing the tournament. Now the standard is being reset it’s a disappointment if we aren’t in contention for a conference title and making sweet 16’s and that’s exactly where I want my program. Get hot at the right time and you never know what might happen and that has been proven by us in 2019 and UNC a couple years ago.

You've been around a lot longer than me Corch lol. I started watching when ol 6 fingers was on the team. A friends cousin was on that team and after I heard about that guy I started watching more lol.

All I know is I would give up a lot to have even a J'Von McCormick walk through the door. We've been chasing good guard play from both spots for what seems like years now. Every other position at least seems good enough, but for some reason we keep struggling to find good 1's and 2's.

Ive been watching since 2002.

Only need to go as far back as Varez Ward to find the lows.

what the hell are you talking about? We have two excellent point guards right now. Aden was a damn 5 star for fricks sake. Name another time Auburn has signed a 5 star PG.

Losing makes some of yall lose your senses. Basketball is NOT football. One player can go the frick off and win a game and there is no amount of talent that can stop it. Or how the most talented player can just disappear during a game when the ball isnt falling. It happens all the time. And its not like we have the roster to just out talent everyone. No one has that kind of roster in basketball this year.

You can tell who actually played the sport and who just started tuning in.

Auburn's roster is fricking great. Just have to lock it in come tournament time.
