Bruce never seems to be able to find a guard that can consistently hit the 3.

We’ve got 5 guys averaging about 35% or better which is good. They just couldn’t hit crap today. For reference the F4 team had 6 guys in that range.

25 3’s is to many when they aren’t falling the key to win on the road is pound the rim with everyone. Not jack 3s.

And we still haven’t won a Q1 game. So any drop in the NET even on the road is deserved.

When they cannot hit when the pressure turn up that tells me they are not like that final four team. Apparently they had been coasting on softer defenses. I am highly curious to see if guard play is once again our achilles heel.

It likely didn’t really matter at the end. But that second equipment delay allowed bama to regroup after their terrible start and they went on a run.

Completely pathetic that shite went on.

The final four team was losing games left and right until the end of the year.

Still early so I could just be hoping, but I don’t think it’s as bad as the past years. Wen became the entire engine for those teams. But the biggest difference between this team and the F4 team is the fact that the best part of this team in the front court and the best part of the F4 team was the back court.

True.

One thing that reared its head again, that I hadn't seen much of this year: missing free throws down the stretch.

I think Tre should be playing more than Holloway. Aden hasn’t made a shot in a month. Him running down the court and chunking one is not helping us.

Guard heavy, 3 pt shooting team that caught absolute fire at the right time. The perfect storm of the NCAA tournament

The final 4 team is definitely quite different from this team but that doesn’t mean this can’t be a final 4 team. I think AA’s point was mainly just that this team also has a lot of guys you have to respect from 3. Aden, Denver, Tre, CBM, and Jaylin are all guys you wouldn’t be wise to give up an open three too.

Except for tonight lol. But the final 4 team also had some porous nights shooting. I remember it was maybe a road game at NC State where we couldn’t make a three to save our life.

Too many mental mistakes throughout the game. Didnt take advantage of momentum opportunities. Fumbled away fast breaks. Dribble and passing issues. Cant make the clutch free throws down the stretch.

And I love JWill, but when he is having an off night, we really suffer. He was hell on the boards, but was a ghost on offense in the first half.

Also, bama had a dude go the frick off. Whatever his name that made 4 threes in a row. Dude took the game over.
thats juts basketball and why we all love the game.

We have to play a more controlled game mentally if we are going to make a run this year. Good news is this team hasnt peaked, so there is time.

What’s interesting is he had been even though he wasn’t starting. Not sure why Bruce rode with Aden this game. Maybe he liked Aden to run the offense and facilitate through Broome and CBM? Not sure.

No dude. The biggest difference was we had guards that could make shots under pressure. There is a reason why they call March Madness a guard's tournament.

Look at our footage @ Bama

LINK

We were down a ton early and we still stayed calm and collected and hit tough shot after tough shot to come back and win.

Aden, Tre, KD and Denver need to figure their shite out. too many TOs from those 4 and not near enough assist. We were first in TO to Assist ration going into the game and had 11 TO to 11 Assist tonight. I don't know what the game plan was going in bu after 1O mins it was obvious that we couldn't make a 3 and they had no answer for Broome. Yet we waited til after Half to feed Broome.

You just unlocked a repressed memory

20% from 3 (same as tonight). Bryce didn’t make a single one. And 25 turnovers.

Essentially what I was trying to say. This team has to rely on Broome in crunch time. Guards haven’t shown the ability to deliver the dagger 3.

Those dudes had an aberration to their usual output, but when they needed to close out florida, tennessee, bama, and so many more teams we had guards that could shoot and dribble.

We have not had guards that could shoot in the big games since 2020 at least.

This is a redundant conversation!

This was our first big game of the year unless you count Baylor (which Aden and Denver did shoot well in if I recall correctly)
