I’d be absolutely shocked if they ever started barring an injury. Jabari and Walker are the best players on the team until Flanigan returns and are both nightmares to scheme against.

I'll see you that comment, and raise that we were out rebounded by Moorhead State by double digits. Thats ten extra possessions, twenty if we out rebound them by ten. We could have Stephen Curry at SG and we'd still be break-even in the SEC with those rebounding numbers. Play Jalin at the 3, IDK. We need more boards.

Jabari had a significantly better stat line than Jaylin, including three times as many rebounds in only four more minutes.

Kessler also had a much better stat line than Cardwell, also including three times as many rebounds and five times as many blocks in double the minutes Cardwell got.

Those guys are both NBA players and aren’t seeing the bench barring a massive change in their play. Neither guy will likely be an elite rebounder, but what they bring in every other aspect of the game makes that a much easier pill to swallow.

Those ESPN stats are not accurate, but let's assume they are. We got ourebounded by Moorehead State by four. I don't give a shite about other stat lines, I'm talking about rebounds only. If we don't get them we won't have enough possessions to win in the SEC. I'll let the coaches figure that out.

We can agree to disagree that Jabari and Kessler should and will continue to start then

We will have to get more boards from somewhere. Both those guys had six boards each I think. Awesome.

Do you you understand the Dr.Tom Davis, modified flex offense that Bruce Pearl runs? 2 through 5 are interchangable.

Let's table this discussion because its been one game. My belief is that Pearl is going to play most minutes who give him the most possessions.

Your base point is accurate for sure - winning the rebound stat is a good indicator of the winner. But the rebound margin depends a lot on offensive, defensive boards, and shot percentage to really be a good talking point.

Did you watch the game? At no point did I ever feel like we were getting crushed on the glass. If you watch enough basketball you’ll realize that if you start out leading in.a game 35-6 the effort on the glass tends to be subpar for the rest of the game. Losing by 4 on the boards shouldn’t hurt anyone’s feelings in that game

Kessler is not a good three point shooter.
He’s a shot blocking machine. He really protects the rim.

Jabari is legit. He has “it.”

We’ve got quality depth. KD, JW can really score the ball. Stretch and Cardwell gives us 2 big bodies in case of foul trouble with JS or WK.

Having multiple ball handlers and scorers is exciting.

I see us as at least a second weekend tournament team.

By all accounts he’s good enough that you can’t just leave him wide open for a three which is all we need him to be. That makes the other team’s 5 step out and defend him which does wonders for putting pressure on the rest of the defenders.

And one of the reasons Kessler came to us, bc he knows Pearl is going to let him play outside some, and that means Pearl lets his guys shoot out there.

Kessler is going to shoot out there, I just hope he gets more comfortable and improves his shot to force those bigs outside.

How good of a passer is he? If he draws guys to him, does he have the instinct to make that pass inside on cutters for easy shots inside?

He had an excellent pass to Jabari when he was on the perimeter and Jabari got inside leverage on his man.

He’s a scheming nightmare. Let’s also not ignore the fact that he can hurt you off the bounce if teams overextend on the perimeter. He had a nice drive early in the game that he got fouled on.

If Flanny is his normal self when he returns this team is going to be extremely dangerous both offensively and defensively.

Jabari Smith Jr already being mocked to Orlando Magic at #4 pick by Jonathan Givony (ESPN Draft Analyst).
