Which one completely botched a 1 vs 0 layup halfway through the second half?

Cambridge bounced the ball off his leg on a steal/breakaway. Not too bad of a point for that to happen, and I bet he learned a hard lesson about ball control lol.

True. Just hope that kind of thing doesn't happen in the tourney, especially considering how cold our traditional offense gets at times.

Cal has a point. NET is a mess. RPI may have had its flaws, but you knew exactly what was going on and it was a legitimate results oriented ranking. NET is all over the place, probably overvaluing the shite out of efficiency like it wants to be Ken Pom or something.
I'll say this, though. It's easy to game the shite out of RPI, and we did this year, hence being number 6, which is obviously too high. We're pretty good but the idea of us having a legitimate 2 seed resúme is laughable.

TeamRankings still seems to think we have a better shot at a 2, 3, or a 4 than a 5 seed.

Yeah, but that's a stretch and probably a holdover in their model from when RPI was the predominant ranking metric. I bag on NET, but where they have us ranked is probably fair.

But you have to remember, on that play Cambridge made it happen bc he hustled and actually had stolen the pass.
But as he hit it and tried to get control of it while he was streaking toward the basket, the UT player was coming up on him, and Cambridge never could get control of it and fumbled it out of bounds.
The effort is what I was happy about.
And the young guys, like pointed out here, Jaylin, Devan and Allan F, all either scored or had quite a few rebounds...

Flanigan looked really good. Best control game I’ve seen from him all year. He’s usually out of control on drives and gets himself into a bad position. Was surprised how well he played. Hopefully there is more good things to come from him.

We're 7-3 in Quad 1 right now. Looks nice and shiny. I assume it was Kentucky and Saint Louis that switched over.

Flanigan is a freshman!
Yes, he is going to get a lot better.
He has not even has an off season to work on his game yet.
I like our young guards. They have a lot of potential.
They will complement Cooper well next year.

Pretty crazy... Williams, Flanagan, and Cambridge will all be starting next year.

Flanagan looked as good in that game as I’ve seen all year. There was another game where we hit a 3 and banked in a long two and finished with more points, but this was the most in control I’ve seen him looks offensively. There was a stretch where he was our go to player on offense which I did not know he had in him. At one point in the second half he was wide open for 3, and he waited for the defender to get out to defend him before blowing by and finishing at the rim. That is what we need from him the rest of the year.
Ultimately our tourney run lies in the hands of Samir and J’Von though. Samir has been lights out the last two games which is a good sign. But the thing I love the most about both of these guys, is that they have ice in their veins with an absolute knack for big shots. Every time we needed one against Tennessee one of them hit a clutch 3 to shut up the crowd. Those two step up when the pressure is on and I’m excited to see what they have in store for March.

Agreed.

I wouldn’t go that far. Samir has an impenetrable confidence and the closest to ice in his veins. J’von played really well last game but we have seen many games where he couldn’t buy a bucket.
Ice in veins players:
Senior KT Harrell
Harper
Brown

I'm not sure there is a difference between 'ice in his veins' and 'Impenetrable confidence'.
I think he has more than Bryce b/c Bryce basically wanted to shoot a jump shot, and he was not really consistently successful on dribble drives.
Samir is as good as a dribble drive guy as we have had outside of Harper. He is not as quick ofc, but man he can shake and fake better than anyone in a while wearing an AU uniform.
J'Von sometimes becomes timid, and doesn't attack like he can do, limiting his effectiveness.
He definitely has improved his 3 pt shot. Now his FTs? nope.

Samir often plays to his own beat. That doesn’t mean his game is always a positive for us.
Regardless J’von is no where neither. He’s been serviceable which is what we needed, but a couple games notwithstanding, nothing more.

Williams, Flanagan, and Cambridge will all be starting next year.
