I’d rather be king of a college campus than slogging around in a DLeague or some Eastern European dump

He probably needs that six figures in Europe a year early

Yep. Clearly needed a strong arse offer. Too bad our program is clean as a whistle.

Been reading a Magic fan forum. After the initial shock wore off and they started listing to their board insiders and outside experts, and started watching tape on Chuma they mostly seem happy with the pick now and excited about Chuma's potential.

The few that are still questioning it aren't questioning Chuma, but just the logistics of having so many forwards on their team since they already have Aaron Gordon and Jonathan Isaac. I don't think a lot of them realize Chuma projects as a 3 primarily in the NBA and not a 4 (although he can play that spot and will be a combo), a lot of them kept referring to him as a PF since that was his main position in college.

I also learned that apparently they hate Vucevic wasn't expecting that

Chuma is a great player but it was a terrible pick by the magic. They easily could have traded down 5-10 spots and still picked him up.

I don't think so. There were some insiders saying if the Magic hadn't taken him then the Spurs would have at 19

I wish that would've happened, I'm a Spurs fan

That assumes someone was willing to trade up into that spot.

Never underestimate the stupidity of some gms. Folks were trading all night. They could have picked up cash considerations at least. I would have traded back and risked it personally.

There were quite a few people who had Okeke going early 20s

There were quite a few takes that he was mid lotto pre injury

I'm not risking "my guy" just for minor amount of cash considerations. Plus it is a bad look as a GM to trade down 5-10 spots for no real return

The bucks signed Rayjon Tucker to an undrafted FA deal btw.

He stayed in the draft after committing to Memphis.

From the Mcadory HC

James Poindexter
@CoachPee34
Everyone knows I’m a die hard Bama fan, but I gotta tip my hat to @coachbrucepearl. This guy was at the @AHSAAUpdates Elite 100 today at 10am and stayed ALL day! Spoke to just about EVERY high school coach, took notes on guys, sold HIS program! Auburn is lucky (eyeroll emoji)

This site doesn’t transcribe emojis. As a Bama fan he’s not liking how lucky we got.

I drove to the airport to welcome him (I wasn't in the group jumping up and down for him). I knew we just struck gold and it was only a matter of time.
