Jaylin fits this mold correct? I’m really curious/excited to see how Bruce uses Okoro. He will be maybe our best defender and is someone who can knock down the open shots as well as score around the rim.

Okoro has a lot of work to do IMO. Ive watched him 5 times this year in person, 3 times on TV and he never took over games, even against lesser competition. McEachern is stacked with talent, the kid we really want is Cooper (obviously). The last game at McEachern I went to was the elite 8 vs Peachtree Ridge and Coach Cal was there (we were playing uga or bruce woulda been too Im sure). I really wish we woulda went after Jared Jones, I think he is gonna be really good up at Northwestern. They play for the state title Saturday vs Meadowcreek (last years champ) and Im thinking about heading down to Macon for it, but it is on PBS as well. If they win, they will finish 32-0 and likely go on to play in the national tournament at the end of the year. Right now they are #1 and #2 in most polls.

Pretty sure he was committed to AU at one point but backed off when FBI stuff came out

Youre right....forgot about that. He was at Pebblebrook at that time and teammate of Harper.

I agree we don't need three 7 footers, but I'd like to have a bit more size and strength than the team currently has and has had in the last couple of years. If Brown was 3 inches taller he'd finish at the rim better...same could be said of Harper or at least if he was thicker he'd create "contact" in a manner that's more likely to draw a foul. Spencer and AK both are awesome, but wouldn't it be nice if they were both 2 inches taller and 40 lbs heavier but still athletic.

Thing about Harper, is a lot of guys his size have found ways to be at least average at finishing at the rim in the past. I'm convinced if he could develop a consistent little running floater in the paint he could reach All-America type status

One of the things I'm really excited about with this incoming class. Adding a lot of length. While might not have any 6'11" hulking giants we are adding a few inches at almost every position

Jones -> 6'1"
Okoro -> 6'5"
Flanigan -> 6'5"
Williams -> 6'7"
Stretch -> 6'8"

I've got good news guys. This super smart, highly qualified scientist guy named Dr. Luke McKay told me that its his scientific opinion that there is a 100% chance that Auburn makes the Sweet 16

Saw him wearing an AU hat on a Netflix documentary, so naturally I had to @ him on Twitter.

I see your point, but in the end we are a one trick pony.

We wouldn't be a one trick pony is the point.

If all 5 guys can shoot, the opponent's defense turns to sh*t

- Rim protector is defending perimeter not the rim
- Ball screens hard to defend both ball handler + screener waiting to pick & pop
- Help defense can't sag off primary assignment
- Harder to blanket primary weapons like Bryce Brown/Harper with help defense

would help when the shooting is cold

The threat of shooting is enough to open other areas. Last night Bama didn't stop blanketing Harper/Brown just because they were cold.

Also, the chances 5 different positions of ~40%+ shooters go cold on the same night is extremely rare.

a big inside presence

Look at our offense when Wiley is in, he clogs the paint with defenders and our off ball movement grinds to a halt as he isn't effective at rotating with him

Moving the ball once it gets inside is so huge at this level... We saw it last night... okeke does a really nice job passing out of the post... he hit brown for a huge 3 late, and hit Anfernee on a back door cut.

Very few big men have that type of passing ability/vision

Obviously they’re pros but that is the biggest difference between college and the NBA. Big guys can move the ball in the post. College players seem to get tunnel vision.

Wiley seriously needs to work on clearing/boxing out defenders when someone is driving. He usually just stands there looking for them to dump it off, but they end up getting double or triple teamed when they go up for the shot and have no way to dump it off. He would be better off just getting wide and getting in their way so they have a clear lane.

The way we played from about the 12 min mark of the 2nd half til the end is how we need to play the rest of the season...

- Full Court Pressing instead of just on the inbound. ESPECIALLY teams that are young at PG. We go 10-deep. PRESS.
- Playing more inside/out. Chuma is good at making plays from the post. It would give us balance.
- Jared is great as a go-to guy in the last 2 mins. I knew if it was close, we'd win because Bama don't have an established closer. But we do.

Bruce really has more versatility with this team than just chucking up 3s all game. He's playing Poker.

I’ve thought all year that Bruce would hopefully get the guys clicking the last 4-5 games of the season and it looks like he might just be doing that.

It seems he has found a couple of different buttons he can press with this team in the last 3 games or so that we didn't use before. Hopefully that + the confidence that comes with winning close games has us peaking at the right time.

Why would a defender clear out? Fear of a Wiley corner 3?
