Lee posted a screenshot of the current 9/14 visitor list:

Looks like Tyrell is now a 4*.

I saw where Ismael was CB'd to us recently. Do we have room for all 3?

At a minimum, Auburn should have at least 4 open scholarship slots. There is a real possibility we could have 6-7 spots if guys like Wiley, Purifoy, Harper or others opt to leave early

4 seniors leave, plus some combination of Wiley, Purifoy, and Harper go pro.

Not likely, but it is a possibility.

And to think Okeke might have a higher ceiling than these three..

Two of the scholarships are already taken, with Okoro and Flanigan.. so we have two more schollys for sure.

As excited as I am to have Ismael Moussad visiting, Rutgers will be extremely hard to beat out.

Just my opinion.. but I think Tyrell Jones commits during his visit or not long thereafter.

Wiley is the likely one IF he has a big season.

Harper is small. I like his game, but with only 2 rounds of a world wide draft, I doubt he gets drafted.

Purifoy IF he develops a more physical game might play at the next level. I don’t see him being drafted right now, but maybe he has gotten more physical.

Do we have any big men on our radar like Wiley or are we going after all the 6'8 PFs that can run?

I’m not an insider, but any kid 6’10” or bigger is on everyone’s radar for at least a look.

Akingbola is joining the team, who is a big and will back up Wiley at his position.

Walker Kessler, a 6'10 2020 Big out of Fairburn GA, is a player we've been recruiting for some time. He's a UGA legacy but open to the idea of playing for Pearl.

Other than that, I know we've put some feelers out there but haven't seen or heard anything of interest at the moment. Pearl will be hosting basketball recruits during the football season at the games, so we'll know more then.

Also, this seems to be a prerequisite for Pearl.. even Wiley can run for a player of his size.

Akingbola news

quote:

he has to go back home because his VISa has expired. Probably wont be on campus this semester. Hopefully, they can speed it up but sometimes the student VISA can take awhile.

Still a chance they can get it cleared up but at this stage it looks like he probably won't be a member of this years squad.

Dang. Barring a couple of injuries, probably won't hurt this years team. But his addition would have been a legitimate luxury to have. Luxuries are rare in the strict confines of college basketball scholarship rules.

So, no reclassification yet? Could’ve sworn I saw a picture of his dorm room.

I think he still reclassified, just an issue with the VISA which is seems like something that should have been either known about or avoided.

RPI is being replaced by NCAA committee as the primary ranking/eval by a new system called "NET"

quote:

The NCAA Evaluation Tool, which will be known as the NET, relies on game results, strength of schedule, game location, scoring margin, net offensive and defensive efficiency, and the quality of wins and losses

I'm not super into these things, metrics, etc.. I'm more of an x's and o's guy.. but this is much closer to a KenPom type ranking, no?
