Refreshing to see kids play defense in high school. Anyway, looks like a big body that excels in defense and rebounds well.

We've been hard after him though, even after FBI scandal. So I'm not super worried

Do we have a shot with Okoko that plays with Akingbomo at MacEachern?

Yes, a very real possibility. We're also recruiting another teammate, Sharife Cooper, a PG in the 2020 class.

Okoro/Cooper/Akingbola

I went to last year's game in Tuscaloosa and it was fun to watch us win there. Coleman is a dump even after the renovation

They really screwed up by wasting $ on renovation instead of building another arena

My graduation was in Coleman and it wasn’t nice but I didn’t think it was that bad. That was before renovations.

I did find it odd that in the midst of all of the other construction they do on campus that they wouldn’t go ahead and build a new arena.

On Akingbola, some notes

From AU Booster Hooks

quote:

Word on the street is he is a superior bball player at this stage in his life. Freak athlete, moves feet like a guard (played soccer all his life), uncanny shot blocking ability (timing and quick off the floor) and is a fantastic young man (4.0 student etc). He has much more offensive game than Horace does. Lastly he is strong and already weighs over 225. High ceiling player who will contribute day one.

From Brandon Clay, Chairman of the Naismith Award Selection Committee

quote:

Akingbola is a tremoundous rebounder around the basket. He’s active, not afraid of contact and looking to swat anything coming inside. “Stretch” will run the floor and is capable of finishing in the lane with dunks in traffic.

Will this weather coming in today have an effect on the game tomorrow? If we get some snow roads will prob still be bad for travel tomorrow.

I'd imagine it would affect crowd size, but the game itself should be fine. Auburn played Bama as scheduled in 2014 despite weather concerns

So EJ Montgomery made the McDonalds All American Team. Would have been only the 3rd McDonalds All American in school history
