Saw this posted on Twitter by a fan.

What are the collective thoughts on Auburn playing a basketball game inside Jordan Hare?

Obviously you would want it to be a big game against a ranked opponent (Kentucky comes to mind), but what do y’all think?

I wonder how many Auburn fans would pack the stands.

it would have to be like a first of season game November where it's not 35 degrees outside. During the day. And a decent team historical team like some type of blue blood or a team from the prior year that made at least the elite 8 plus we would have to have and expectation of being at least a sweet 16 teams as well.

With all that I would say we could get close to 30ish thousand. Seating would horrible

probably will never happen because of logistics of having a court setup.

Some thing more realistic is getting home/home with nonconf blue bloods, Like UNC, Duke, Kansas, UCLA. I think that is a more realistic goal then trying to fill the football stadium for a game.

Also, wind would be a factor. Strong winds and three point shooting don’t mix.

I think it could work as a one off in the following season right after a really big year. But I think you would want to do it in the fall in a non-SEC game (of course football would have to be off). I think you could put a pretty good amount of fans in the stands. The lower bowl could get 75% filled.

But if there is any game of importance, their asses better be in Bruce Pearl Arena aka the Pearldom. That place is just too much of a weapon for us

What a horrible idea.

bball games are played inside for a reason. Any person who has ever played on the blacktop understands why.

If we could pull it off the right way at the right time, it would be legendary. Literally. Definitely something to be looked into. Set it up in the south endzone. We has the engineers. frick, why not make it an annual tourney? Worst case, weather, etc. erryone gets packed into Pearl Arena.

It is all timing Homey. The best idea at the worst time is probably not the best idea, at the time. Are you following me? Vice versa.

IF DONE RIGHT (caveat), it would be remarkable.

Remarkable - you know, where all kinds of people make remarks to each other and talk about remarkable shite that Auburn does and can do. Think first, then think again. Post again after a few days. (I am working on that myself).
