I’ve never liked it when only three d-lineman are touching the ground. Sure you have a “rover” up there that makes it look like a four man front, but give me four true lineman. TCU tried it against Uga last year and got run over. Bill Oliver had success with it so I have hope

s. Puts too much air under them at times. He had Deal wide open for a TD and threw it to the outside shoulder and had him turned around.

Overall agree with your take, but on this one I think it may have been the receivers fault.

Offensive line - well pleased Starting QB Thorne - very good
Package QB Ashford - great job
Backup QB Ashford - not good
Backup QB Geriner - good Running backs - excellent Wide receivers - mostly good
Tight ends - good blocking, invisible as receivers I believe that was a coaching decision to not run designed plays for them
Defensive line - started horribly, improved to adequate Barely adequate especially the ends. They need an intensity check asap
Linebackers - ineffective and a non-factor Asante played nice. Others did not get off the bus.
Secondary - great game Special teams - very good

I agree with your assessment except for a few thoughts.

I hope you understand I drafted Rivaldo in the seventh round and got 0 points out of him. My team is loaded though so no cares.

I shoudlve known that TEs were so not back. We even threw to fricking Luke Deal.

This is how you dominate:

Holden has the best arm/ is the best passer on the team. And it's not even close.

Somewhat refreshing to watch an Auburn QB perform with some actual protection and not having to run for their lives every play. Will be interesting to see how this o-line handles better competition.

Defense looked sloppy against a bad offense. Not very disciplined, need to learn to stay in lanes and plug gaps. This unit needs to improve as the competition gets stronger.

Overall pleased with the teams performance in a glorified scrimmage. Looking forward to seeing this team play against better competition next week. NOT looking forward to the late kick off, will have to take a nap before the game next week, getting old really does suck.

The team played a clean virtually error free game which is really good for this time of year with so many new players.

That is in stark contrast to the sloppy mess Florida put on the field.

The defense has got improve. We looked slow and lost multiple times.

In that first UMass drive, it looked like the defense was just standing in their shoes.

I think the big running QB had them on their heels. Not sure they were ready for that

Takeaway fir me is I enjoyed watching football again.

Although there were some good signs, it’s not enough for me to claim all is good on the plains just yet. I am looking forward to the 15-0 Ship! Season unfold though. War Damn Eagle!

McPherson was kicking them pretty high. He can get them out the back if he lowered the trajectory some.

Noticed that as well and it worked great. Returners are taught "if it goes this distance, return it". He skied those kickoffs, when they caught it the coverage team was within 7-8 yards and they got little return, so you ended up getting ten yards gain versus a touchback.

That block downfield by Burton was impressive, also saw Asante run up beside a guy on a Keionte return and throw up his hands and slow walk in front of him versus a block in the back, nice.

Only time I noticed him was when he held a defender and stalled out a drive.

His name was called once.....for holding on a long run

To be fair, it was a chinzy call and it would not have been a good run without it.

They definitely kept the plays for him under wraps, we play A&M and you will see him have a Brock Bowers game and all the announcers will be asking where he was all season

oops sorry Jville see you beat me to it, it was funny that it was the only time his name was called.
