No chance he gets drafted. Too short

Yep, silly of him not to go through the process. He gets some pretty invaluable feedback, even if he does decide to come back.

If he remains in the draft, I guarantee he would be taken by the end of the draft. Doesn't mean he will or should stay in it though.

In the announcement from ESPN, Pettiford said in the article if he returns it will be to AU. So at least the competition here is only Auburn NIL vs NBA late 1st round or 2nd round draft money. Should be able to compete well in that space.

"If I return, it will be to Auburn. I can't leave this type of situation. I trust BP with all my heart, so I will roll with him. Loyalty is important to me."

That's good to hear, I didn't think he'd transfer out for a comparable NIL deal somewhere else but I was wondering if some program would throw most of their NIL budget at him.

Oh i agree. His skill set is undeniable. He's has so much raw talent that an NBA team will take a chance on him. His ability to get separation is what sets him apart imo

These days second rounders, and even late first rounders, can and do make more money staying in college than going pro. Unless they just don't want to do the college thing any more it makes more sense to come back a year or two and bank legit life-changing money while it is guaranteed.

Going through the process makes sense, though, and can only help a player leverage their talent at the college level for a better payday.

Yeah, Johni did the same thing after last season.

I would have had questions about his mental acuity if he didn’t test the waters
