I agree with this.

Let's remember Auburn has no offensive line and he's coached by Chip Lindsey and Gus Malzahn.

If Jarrett Stidham played for someone like Georgia, Alabama, Texas A&M, etc...with someone that can develop a QB, he would be outstanding.

ETA: I agree he does need to play better.

That doesn't make since.

At some point players have to make plays. Stidham clearly has an accurate and strong arm. He needs to do a better job handling pressure. Burrow stepped in and made throws yesterday. Stidham really hasn't done that yet.

Plus and most importantly he doesn't protect the ball. This loss and the UCF loss last season are on Stidham. You can't afford to give the ball up, especially when you don't balance those give aways with big plays and salvaged 3rd and longs frequently. As I have stated I agree he is good, but with our schedule and team we need him to be great.

He isn't better than Tua. I would argue he isn't better than Fromm who has that rare "gamer" quality you desire in a QB. I am not sure he is better than the kid from Ole Miss or Mond. In our O I would prefer the Fitzgerald kid and his mentality.

This loss is on Gus. He puts his players backs against a wall by making dumb decisions. We have played two quality opponents. His dumb decision not to kick an extra points very easily could have cost us the Washington game. Not kicking the FG yesterday cost us the game. It wasn't fourth and one for a TD. It was fourth and one to get extra downs.

For some reason Gus loves to chase points early in games. He has done it time and time again. Some times our players pull his fanny out of the fire. Other times our guys can't.

This loss is not on any player or any group of players. Could we have played better? Sure. LSU didn't play an overly impressive game. They were given an opportunity to win the game because of a stupid decision our coach made for the umpteenth time. LSU took advantage of it.

I disagree.

You cannot turn the ball over against quality opponents and expect to win. We were a 10 point favorite and our turnovers which were terrible cost us 10-14 points and we lost by 1. That's on Stidham.

IMO Gus going for the 1st down isn't a bad thing. It might show he isn't as confident in his kicker as we all are at this point. He sees him more than us. It also might mean he recognized his D is strong and it's ok to go for it in situations like that with our D. Either way lets say we kick that FG and have a 5 point lead. What's to say LSU still doesn't score a TD to win the game.

In the end the most damaging things that happened yesterday were the 2 INT's.

I don't believe you. Dropped passes. Terrible holds on our WRs. I can't think of one pass he missed.
Then you arent thinking hard enough. He threw two picks and missed several receivers. He had one pass batted down on third down bc he tried to get greedy and throw it to Williams instead of his check down to Cox....which would have resulted in a first down if he had. He missed Schwartz running open on a post route...instead he ran out of bounds for a 1 yard gain. He missed Sal over the middle on our last drive on third down. Dude was wide tf open and past the line to gain.

there are perks of actually going to the game. You get to see all the missed opportunities that you dont see on television.

If he has more confidence in his shite-show OL than his kicker, he’s a bigger moron than I give him discredit for.

Then why not take the points when you have a strong D? If we were giving up 40 points a game then TD's are at a premium. With our D, points of any kind is what we need.

Nick Marshall is the best college QB since Cam.

Tua might be better than Nick. Need to see him more against good defenses.

I can see that side...I am only trying to suggest that going for it wasn't that big of deal. People act like it would have guaranteed a win. The trajectory of the game means it is just as likely LSU would have scored a game winning TD instead of a FG.

Giving them 7 via an INT and killing a scoring drive because of an INT cost us the game.

I am just tired of seeing Gus chase points early in a game. If it's late in a game and we need points, I can see it.

Against a quality opponent, especially one who has as good a D as we will see all year, take every point you can for three quarters and see where you stand.

Gus did the exact same thing the last two times we played Clemson. I am not sure if it's ego or what? I am just ready for him to learn/evolve.

I feel the same way about our QB.

Just wait til next year. All you guys will be disappointed after he leaves. Maybe Nix will ball out but Stidham is the best QB we have had since Cam.

I would take Nick Marshall over Stidham every day of the week.
