I thought we recruited well at WR both this cycle and last? Also, WR and RB are the two easiest positions for a freshman to come in and make an impact. We don't have anyone in two classes that are game breakers?

Darius Slayton
Kyle Davis
Nate Craig-Myers
Eli Stove
All potential playmakers, but zero game experience...

Absolutely we should. Which is my point. All this great talent sitting on the bench while Tony Stevens, who has not shown much, plays would be a fail for us. We need those highly talented guys to play at their level.
The real question is, Will Kodi Burns be the guy to get them there.

I fully believe that Darius Slayton could be a damned good SEC cornerback.

Maybe this is it. I've never understood fellow Aubies who take such great offense when you call someone just solid
There is nothing wrong with solid. A team full of solid players wins a lot of games. Having 3 Emory Blakes would be awesome but not game changing nor elite.

I keep checking in with hopes of hearing some spring practice news...but alas, bs bickering
Cmon guys, MD is a good WR. So was Bray. They are of the same mold. Get you good yardage on bubble screens and special teams. They are good at what they are asked to do in Gus's system.
Game changer? Sammie Coates? This board trashed the fck out of him his entire career, now he's a game changer? Fact is, we undervalue the talent on our team and dont give credit where its due

Are you guys really surprised that the guys who have snaps under their belt are ahead of the guys who have never taken a snap? It's an unofficial spring depth chart.

Game changer? Sammie Coates?

Yeah?
Tony Stephens has a chance to be a game changer this year for us imo. He started to show flashes the past two years, but was playing behind Duke and Sammie. Now its his turn, and i really do think he will show out this year.

I am not. I fully expect it.

Maybe we have different ideas on bickering. I see discussion for the most part.
Just because people do not believe the exact same thing all the time, it does not make it bickering

OK?
So why would you want to move him to CB when he still has a lot of potential at the position he was recruited to play?

I think inconsistent is the word yall are struggling to find to describe Marcus Davis. his career so far has been make a big catch, drop a couple easy ones, not be back on the field for 3 or 4 possessions. There's a good chance that improves with a new position coach. say what you want about KB's lack of experience at the position but I like the man's work ethic. IIRC Dameyune had the same disturbing lack of experience with all things WR and his work ethic sucked, quite honestly. I gotta believe things are about to look up with this group.

Maybe he wants Slayton to avoid the Trovon Reed career path.

Except they're not even remotely close to being the same player

Coates had game changing talent, but I don't remember him actually changing any games... part of that (and all our WRs for that matter) has been our sporadic (at best) QB play. Duke did more game changing in one season that SC did in three.
I think Davis in a pass happy offense like Baylor would put up huge numbers. Hopefully he gets more opportunities this season.
