Hey, I did say it was the offseason and you probably can't take that very far

I expect gocrazy to be one of those company line hacks though.

I am intrigued that Golesh is working so incredibly hard but he looks like he has been at a buffett since he got to Auburn and recruiting is still 16th in the SEC.

I have just always loved the "the first thing a new coach does is change the culture"

Not really sure what the even means. The only time I can remember that I felt the "culture" needed to be changed was when Chizik left and we got rid of all the gangsters. That was a culture change.

As far as us having a losing culture. We do. I guess if we start winning, Comrade Golish will have effectively changed the culture.

I have enjoyed reading some of yalls posts and "hopes" for the team this year. It has just been extra hard for me to get excited this time. Even though I like the new coach. We just seem so far behind that this is a big arse hill to climb

Hope I am wrong

There arent many legitimate cases of cuture change being in step with tabloid sensationalism.

Dont forget Harsin literally ran a "I am the chemo to the cancer" to the players from the Gus era. Hokanson defended this while Harsin was HC.

Some weirdo fans watched Harsin kick good players off the team and blamed Gus. I dont buy it all. 95% of football journalism from January through September is writer fluff or school propaganda.

when we were 6-2 and ranked in the top 15 mid season it seemed like whatever he was doing was working

but him running off the WR coach around that time was the first of several red flags

anyway, i bought into the initial Harsin “changing the culture” hype, so i’m guilty as charged

all i can say about Golesh is, he’s the first AU HFC in decades that doesn’t make me smh whenever he opens his mouth

Dude asked for a recap of spring so far. That has been the most reported thing so far this spring, by more than just our beat writers.

Yeah

and next year it's going to be "Despite bringing in a new QB Golesh is more relaxed." "Players dont have to rush to learn the system and they know what is expected of them.

I think the biggest thing to this beyond just getting buy in, is accountability. It always comes out after a coach is gone but you hear about all sorts of different issues where guys are allowed to do stuff they shouldn't be. Are guys just going through the motions or are they truly putting in the extra time after practice and stuff.

As I said though, it is spring, everyone is always upbeat this time of year, especially with a new staff. It is a new beginning and nothing has been difficult. Only way to really know if a coach has changed the mindset of a team is once the shite hits the fan. Then we will see. As you or someone else said, winning cures a lot of woes though too.

Correct me if wrong.

But I think you're saying the commissar is still establishing a legacy, while the preacher was resting upon his.

And I'll be just as skeptical then as I am now. I think our beat writers especially have shown how untrustworthy they can be when reporting. They are as bad as any when it comes to overinflating stuff.

I’m sure culture change is part of it, but the biggest improvement, and will probably be a 2-3 game swing is not having a lazy arse HC.

Who not only didn’t want to attend offensive meetings, but also wanted to show up on Saturdays calling plays that weren’t even practiced the week before.

Competency from the HC alone will be a net gain.

This is true, and Hasin does know ball, he just doesn't know how to be a head coach.
Both Harsin and Golesh are hard asses, however Harsin was also an a-hole that fractured the team. Golesh seems to be a rare hardline players coach. I'm nervously optimistic.

i think he knew how to be an HC in the pre-NIL/transfer portal era

the sport changed radically just before his first season at AU, and it seemed to me that he was unable/unwilling to change his methods

it will he interesting to see how he does if some school takes a flyer on him as an HC next year once his payday from AU runs out

Som info in the A-day format. Scoring will be less traditional but it will basically be a normal game, not just practice drills and stuff.

That WR coach "supposedly" sleep with one of his daughters from what I hear.
