That's really what I miss about Tubbs. He had some other glaring faults, but outside of his last year, you always felt you had a chance to beat your opponent, no matter how great the opponent was.

Exactly and I havent feel like that in a long time(07 to be exact). Now I feel like we have no shot against any of our rivals(I refuse to say big boys because thats what we were considered at one point).

And at some point in the season, you'd drop a game to a mediocre team that you have no business losing to.

And don't forget those great 11:30AM teams that took the field.

I sure as hell didn't feel that way in 07 after starting 1-2 and losing to fricking MSU & USF, at home.

Rushell Shell is transferring from Pitt. Didn't he pick Pitt over us?

We were never blown out in those games but yea I remember being pissed off before we played UF. But we did win some decent games that season and it was a least a nail biter against LSU. We had a solid defense other than the blowout loss against UGA.

He picked Pitt over everyone. I seem to remember Bama being high on his list. I don't think we made his top3 though

Yeah, and we were 8-4.

You basically just described the Tuberville standard. No different than any other year outside of 2004.

People should also remember that Tubbs couldn't beat Arkansas.

He could but not regularly. He was about split even on wins and losses I believe.

I stand corrected.

I remember some bad losses to them, and also being frustrated that Auburn was splitting the series with freaking Arkansas, a team I don't enjoy playing.

@JHokanson: Wednesday practice observations: Stuff happened. No surprises today, still a rotation of players across the board, building depth.

This is a longshot but does anyone know how many practices we have before KICKOFF? I feel like 15 days isn't enough to get any idea of how the team will perform on A-Day, especially with a new system.
