guess you’re forgetting he was on the team in the fall too? There’s more than just video from 3 practices.
Okay, so maybe you’ve seen him throw 40 passes and what 12-15 that aren’t a warmup drill? I’ve see. Nothing from him that shows a “really bad arm”.

I’m sure you’re not biased at all.
Why would I be? I think our QB is coming from the portal.

Of course you did. That’s why Holden keeps running with the backup and walkon WRs…
I did. Maybe you were watching somebody else? The 3/13 drill video he had some good throws in the warmup. As did everyone else. Everyone else also had some abhorrent throws that were worse than any I saw of him. Hell, Finley sailed a receiver by probably 3 yards on a simple hitch route. Not sure what this has to do with his arm strength. They all looked largely terrible. Are you conflating calling out your nonsense as saying Holden has played well so far?
How about we actually wait and see him in something that allows him to throw the ball more than 20 yards before we start making decisions on arm strength?

Corch,
Many years ago I saw a documentary about MLB players from the Dominican Republic. There was a culture where if you made it to the big leagues it was almost mandatory that you set up a charity for the collection of used baseball equipment and shipped it back to your village. And Im not talking MLB balls with a little scuff, Im talking church leagues, little leagues, where this stuff is worn out.
They then showed one of the villages. These kids are playing with duct taped balls, and the field is more stones than dirt. So the balls are taking these wild hops on every play.
The subject of the story.....why almost half of the shortstops in MLB at the time came from the Dominican Republic. lol!
So what you are telling me, if we can find a QB that can throw it somewhere in this hemisphere, our receivers should be well versed on how to catch those bad passes

If you have ever been to the Dominican republic, you would understand. Not sure if you have or not. There is a baseball field on every corner everywhere. It's like basketball goals in the ghetto.
They eat, live and breath baseball in the DR

Holden was apparently really bad in a recent practice. Heard that from one person.
Ashford isn't good, so it's really not shocking that Finley is the most impressive out of those three.
Again, I'd be shocked if the starter is currently on the roster right now. I've heard they want to take two transfer QB's post spring if they can get them.
Is there any chance for G.McCall or is that hopeless/dead?

They're taking a transfer QB is what someone I know is saying

It may depend on if he graduates from what I understand.
Then he can transfer with little issue.

McCall or bust for transfer

You can add me to that group. I was all in on Kheil and JJ unseating Marshall. I'm basically the bizarro qb whisperer. #Finleyin23

Hey, I said Ashford was the best option we had last season, and I was right. And he’s still the best option currently. That could change if a transfer comes in.

The OL is SIGNIFICANTLY improved this year. Last year Ashford made sense because we were forced to run a highly limited run-heavy offense in order to do anything wit the ball. There is no excuse to do that this season, period. So Ashford better learn how to actually play QB, or else he most certainly isn't "the best option".
He's only the best option if your offense is horrid and devoid of ability whatsoever. If you look at how Freeze operates with massive year-1 turnaround at all of his other previous stops, he's not wasting next season.

When you have 3 inaccurate QBs, give me the one that can hurt teams with their legs at least.

We all have our moments. I will stick with the thing I said when Hugh was hired. Ashford will not be our starting Qb this season
And if by some chance he is and I am wrong, we are in for a horrid season.. Im talking 6 wins max type of season.
There is way that guy can improve enough to help us. We need someone else at the controls

Freeze is gonna do what’s best for us to win football games. Being HC at AU doesn’t exactly scream job security. He’s got to win and QB is obviously vital. He knows what it takes at QB more than any other position

Which is why I was totally surprised that he didnt portal someone in already.
I felt like it should have been up there with offensive line

This sounds a lot better than reading last year during spring practice that we were embracing bend but not break defensive philosophy.

I’ve definitely seen enough of the prevent defense the past 2 years.

Bend but don’t break is for betas.
Us alphas understand that.

He tried to get McCall. Everyone else in the portal either had a major injury question mark or wasn’t any better than what he already has.
