Since September 15th, my house has gotten this done
Roof tiles were installed
Stucco was sprayed on the exterior
Stucco was painted
Wall insulation was installed
The coping and tiles were installed around the top of the pool
Thats it. In 6 months. By my calculations, that is about a weeks worth of work

I need some real advice. As some of you know I have a benign brain tumor and have surgery sometime in the future. My wife gets aggravated with me playing it off when I tell people about it but I don’t want sympathy, just prayers. I’m not even honest with her about what’s going on to protect her from worry. Should I be more transparent? I mean there is so much going on until I’m sure it will overload her or she will dismiss it. Sorry to be a Debbie downer but I need some advice whether it stings or not tell me like it is.

If extending sympathy is a dilemma maybe perhaps reserving the topic might be your only action. Because not everyone is going to give you that space (you old geezer). As for prayers you hit me at a good time. The right weekend. I'll ask for a Passover.

I think each of us handle things in our own way. Me, like you, tend to try to handle things within myself and not burden other people with it. Not sure how long you have been married but I would bet your wife understands that. She may not expressed it but she understands it.
I remember you went for some test a few weeks ago, any results?. Are they giving you any kind of indication when they may try to go in and remove it?

Down playing stuff is just in my nature, sounds like it's in your too. I tend to try to find levity in all my concerns/challenges, while still trying to solicit prayers.
You're in uncharted waters, go with your gut. I say prayer for you, "Fear The Thumb," today.

Totally understand you dilemma. I try to keep stuff internal, way down deep. I have a wife who worries but knows me by now. I have found being more transparent with issues like you are facing is better overall. Your wife may worry more not knowing and if you have been together for a long while will know you are hiding something. I get not wanting the sympathy.

Well coming from the wife side I would want to know what's going on. Your partner is supposed to be the person you share everything with and lean on when needed. If something happened and blindsided me I would feel betrayed that it's wasn't shared with me and start to question everything. Plus I want to be prepared.
My husband and his twin brother both had prostate cancer. I went to every appt and was involved every step of the way. His twin' wife didn't know anything until he had scheduled surgery.

Pulled up beside a blue Nissan SUV this morning at a red light on the way to work. 6:23am and the woman in it was chugging a Miller Lite tall boy.
