When you hire a new HC, you’re playing the lottery. Auburn was ranked inside the top 10 every season at some point under Malzahn. Some years we were overrated (like preseason 2015), but it means we were a respected football program - it was expected for us to be good. You don’t get rid of a guy after a COVID year who had your program in this state, and you definitely don’t pay $20 million to do it.
I swear in CFB, 50% of fanbases are completely delusional and think their team should be in the playoffs every year, and the coach is the only thing holding them back. While Gus never won a national championship, it felt several times like we were in the hunt. Football under Harsin is just mediocrity.

If you want Gus fired, you gotta account for the possibility that Auburn is gonna completely sh1t the bed on his replacement, which judging by the idiots we have running the show, is something approximating 100%

We would be better off right now if Malzahn were still here and we could fire him for someone better than the shite show we have now. So I agree with you.
