Recruiting with dolllars isn’t the same a recruiting with destiny.

I would love to be wrong, but I’m not buying into this. He’s going to lose a lot of talent due to the embarrassment this year.

And if we had a QB worth a damn we win that game. Thorne was 5/16 with 2 INT’s.

Thorne did his job.

A muffed punt and a train wreck 3 man rush on 4th and 31 lost it.

Yes, he did his job to lose the game.

I think next year the defense will be the bell cows. I think they have a chance next year to be a defense that is talked about for years and years. I am much more optimistic on that side of the ball.

But don’t tell me that wanting improvement 10 games into season 2 is instant gratification. Come on!
Is the defense playing better? Is Thorne playing better? I say yes to both. I see improvement. I also see a shitload of young talent coming in, and already on the team. Instant gratification is the idiot who thinks Gus 2013 is normal. In reality, a 5-6 team does not play for a Natty the next year. That's called an anomaly, catching lightening in a bottle. It happens, but it's extremely rare. Our fans who don't get it, expect that with a new coach, with no regard to what they have to work with. How did Bruce Pearl do his first couple of seasons? Where is his BB team now?

The hardest thing I have to wrap my head around is, the concept that a coach should be winning in his 2nd season with a team full of talented freshmen, and seniors who couldn't walk on at another SEC school.

Let me know exactly when that happens. He pulled transfers from Penn State. He pulled a commit 5* from Notre Dame. He has the best RB in the STATE committed. PSU, ND, and that other in-state school will all, probably be in the playoffs. Yet, we just got our 4th win. Go figure.....

You forget his legs. He delivered.

Defense and ST boned. We had that game won.

Umm I think we are kind of agreeing here. I don’t think a single soul expected a championship last year or this year. If they do, that’s silly. I’m just looking for improvement.

I’m a little optimistic now because I’m starting to see it in the players.

Don’t know yet if I’m seeing it in the coaching.

Which was enough. We had the game won.

A muffed punt and a 3 man rush on 4th and 31. That is what lost.

Much better defensive play calling! The average fan bitches about carries for the RB. Meanwhile, they fail to see the opposing defense stacking box, begging you to throw. The average fan screams "Kiffin" while ignoring the fact that his biggest accomplishment is what? Quitting as an OC for a team weeks away from playing for a natty? What's he playing for this year? How's his recruiting class compared to ours? All I'm saying is, give Freeze some time. Recruiting is booming. Progress is being made, even if it seem like baby steps. Considering where we were in 2022, with an interim HC coaching the 2nd half of the season, and who just started coaching, ANYWHERE, just a couple a year before, I think we headed in the right direction.

So many QBs in the portal last cycle that are playing well this season.
That complaint never ceases to amaze me. Just because a player is in the portal, doesn't mean that if we offer, he is just going to accept. Take your O&B glasses off for a second, and consider yourself a player looking to transfer. Of all the teams out there, who best would help you get to where you want to go? Do I need to remind you just how bad Harsin's teams were? Idiots want to throw up Cam Ward. Those morons do not even start to consider that Cristobal came from the HC at Oregon, to Miami. The ACC is a joke compared to the talent of the top two conferences. Think "Big fish, small pond". If the controversy at Michigan State didn't occur, we don't get Thorne. Think about that for a second.

With the current players we have, AND the ones coming in, the future is very bright for that side of the ball. QB is the key for success. Maybe it's White, or maybe Duece, maybe it's a darkhorse nobody see coming. But the fact of the matter is, Freeze is surrounding that guy with a LOT of talent! We are stacked at WR, and our RB stable is as good as anybody. Shore up the OL, and we are contending. All hinges on QB.

Obviously 4th and 31 was the fricking nail in the coffin

Nail in the coffin? We were literally winning before that play. The nail in the coffin was the second interception by Thorne when there was like 10 seconds left in the game and needing 80ish yards to score.

The fact that you blame Thorne for that game frustrates me considering 4 minutes left to go in the game our punt returner also fumbled the ball. But the guy that led the second half charge is why we lost? Of all the inexplicable plays that night? These cringe takes on the polar ends of the thought spectrum need to be avoided, so stop camping out there.

I dont even know how I can see eye to eye with you knowing your opinion is this fricking retarded.

You appear to be hoping for that to happen. Meanwhile, we are flipping players from major programs.

You really sound like a fan of some other school.

You mean the guy who had season tickets for many many years.

yea, I paid for tickets, had people from this very board join my tailgate for years all in disguise.

What it sounds like is, you cant take the fact that everyone does not agree with your blue sky opinion of our head football coach. And since you cant answer the questions, you say I am a racist, fascist, felon. Who knows, maybe I am not an Auburn fan.
