I'm going to predict the complaint this year is that Gus rotates too much and takes guys out once they get going.

I’m just saying this would be our first year to go by committee. I’ll believe it when I see it, Gus is going to do what Gus wants.

He's gone by committee several times until someone seperated themselves.

I don’t know if this is entirely true. First of all, how many years has Gus has two good enough backs that they both deserved to spit carries?
2016: Pettway and Kerryon definitely split carries, in a very UGA type way. Pettway had 1,300 yards, 21 Att/G, 7 TD’s. Kerryon has 900 yards, 15 Att/G, 11 TD’s.
2015: Javon Robinson was injured/in the doghouse at the beginning of the year. The last 6 games of the year he split carries with Peyton Barber. In the final 6 games Robinson ran for 600 yards, and 19 Att/G. Barber ran for 300 yards and 11 Att/G.
In 2014 and 2013 Nick really was the second RB in that system. And there wasn’t a lot of carries to go around to another back. CAP and Grant both ran for 600+ yards in 2013.
The truth is we just haven’t had 2 elite healthy backs all that often under Gus. Mason and CAP in 2013, Robinson and Barber for half of 2015, and Pettway and Kerryon in 2016. If Gus feels equally good about 2 backs I believe he will use them more interchangeably.

The point isn't that some stud is riding the bench. It's that the whole offense will be more effective if you spell the load-bearer with occasional breaks by inserting at least a serviceable back, which we've always had.
Now, to be fair, I don't think it's been as mismanaged as some people like to act like it has been. Last year was the first time I was personally frustrated with it.

It’s coming.
Or he will stay the same and there will be bitching.
One way or the other. There will be bitching.

I honestly forgot how talented we were at RB until this thread was started.

I think Shivers becomes our #2 back this year and shows the most production on carries Everyone complains he can't be an every down back.

No doubt last year was frustrating. Running Kerryon as much as we did against against La-Monroe was unnecessary. He clearly felt better about 75% Kerryon than 100% Kam last year.
I think when Gus feels like the #1 option is significantly better than #2 he is going to over rely on that back. I like all of our top 3 backs this year and think there is a chance we will use all of them in a more balanced way. But if one clearly rises above the rest half way through the year, expect them to get the bell cow of the carries down the stretch.
