I don’t think all of it’s new fwiw. I said a couple days I think the playbook looks the same after all. The difference here is we have Nix and not Sean White and JJ lol.

What if you were on the bus but sat in the very back and sometimes you scrunched down where no one could see you after certain games?

I think the majority of people who were negative about Gus were willing to give him a fair shot. I think Gus is doing great this year, but that doesn't excuse the stuff in the past. This is his 8th season as a head coach, so hopefully he has figured it out.
The problem with this board is that nobody ever wants to be in the middle. They are either in 100% support of Gus or 0% support. That's why we get threads like this and the ones begging to fire him. Everyone wants to react but nobody wants to think

Nah, it’s just that the extremes are louder than the centrists. Just like politics.

I was off the Gus Bus when he rotated 5 Qbs against Clemson to open the season.
Granted I have a lifetime Auburn pass so i can choose when i want to ride or not
I can say without a doubt. For this season. I am on the Gus Bus

We all have been critical of Gus. I believe Lanier is talking about the Fire Gus crowd. There were plenty of those.

I can't say I was ever off the Gus bus, but I was definitely a critic. That said, throw me in with those deplorables if we go to some lame arse tiered fan system based off of how much blind faith we have or will put on Gus.

It’s September. Gus Malzahn has had some Auburn teams start off the year hot, only to break down at the end of the season.
2014: started the year 7-1, ended the year 8-5 (bowl loss)
2016: started the year 7-2, ended the year 8-5 (bowl loss)
2019 has been great thus far when you factor in the QB situation and schedule difficulty. Let’s hope it continues. The team appears to be steadily improving and gaining confidence, similar to the 2013 team.

If it’s another SECCG year was it really blind faith, or just faith?

Agreed to an extent. This team could lose 4 games and still be a top 10 team in the country.
In 2014 what happened with the D is still mind boggling. That was a 10-3 team IMO.
In 2016 that was a 9 win team if we don't get that crazy bowl game draw, but it was never a very good team.
