don't start with the Hank Brown crap. Thankfully, it looks like the Throne delusion is gone from almost everybody except jang.

Hank comes in as does well and you're telling us not to discuss him? He played the best out of all three.

I believe we are all in agreement that Thorne needs to hit the road and Freeze benching him and not speaking to him, then saying the QB position is 100 percent open next season should tell Thorne to pack his bags.

Because the PT experiment was nor naught and Holden appears too slow in more ways than one. Did I miss anyone?

I just never understood why we were not black friday shopping for a QB as soon as it was humanly possible. Now if we were and we just suck so bad nobody wanted to come then I get it. But not doing everything we can, for the second year in a row, to get a big upgrade at QB, is just beyond me. All you have to do is look at the games. Ohio st, Fla St to some extent. These days in college football you need a very good QB to compete. Not a manageable mediocre guy.

We are going to look stupid if the kid that transfered to Kentucky from Georgia starts lighting it up next year and we are 6-6 again with Payton fricking Thorne

There is supporting a kid and then there is letting it go so long that it hurts the program. You cant just sit back there all day and wait for the perfect open guy that you want to be open. Kid cant adjust , cant see the field and makes some very bad decisions at times. And he has played for 4 years.

It is time to move on even if it is with a first timer. But first, we need to be waiting at the door when the portal store opens and find someone who can come in here and work with the talent Auburn has acquired.

If nothing else, it's pure economics, another 6 win season will cost more than adding a new QB.

Haven't crunched the numbers (can't not knowing) but it seems like the cost wouldn't be written in red?

This.

We are trying to pull ourselves out of the football doldrums and make Auburn football fun again. Yesterday was not fun neither was New Mexico State.

Go pay the best QB out there and let’s start winning again before this program becomes a Vanderbilt.

Yup. And people on here say, “why get a QB? We’re not going to the playoffs next year anyway.” It’s not about going to the playoffs next year. It’s about finding a QB that can get Auburn to 8+ wins, showing the recruits your trajectory is still going forward, and keeping the recruiting momentum moving. Another 6 win season next year, and we can kiss that current top 3 25 class goodbye.

We have a three year losing record and a mealy 6-5 prior to that. We are already Vanderbilt bad on the field.

We’ll see if the offensive line has started to come together.

2 at 6’6” 295 plus

2 at 6’5” 295 plus.

Now is the time to turn them into serial killers.
Interesting thing about big kids like that. Their entire life they’ve been told to be gentle or they’ll hurt the little kids. Now comes the time to learn to hurt the little kids between the whistles.

The receiving corps is taking shape. Now to locate the guy to see over the trees on the line and thread needles downfield.

It’s been years since a lineman class like this has been destined for Auburn.
Years since a receiving class like this, destined for Auburn.

If we don’t get a flame thrower….give us a manager.

It is pretty astonishing, interesting, and marvelous at the same time. I feel like I am witnessing something. I grew up in '89 and I doubt things have ever been this bad while I was born. I know for a fact I started watching around the millennium, and I have never seen anything like it.

We are in a dry stretch, and we need to keep going. Good teams can be forged in the flames of fire, and I am willing to bet fanbases can raise their IQ in the lean years as well once they have a little damn appreciation for what they have. Once flowing waters enter our dry wells, we will be smiling Bob.

Pat Nix GRRRRR!!!!!!!

You are amongst the fans I am talking about. I hope you can either shape up or abandon ship. Go support UAT while they are already at the top.

Utah seems to be a popular favorite around here. Apparently their QBs are always polished from the word go!

Maybe SMU?

Some of us could see Brown coming from mile away. From the fall camp thread:
I was the first on the Hank Brown train and coined the Downtown Hank Brown moniker

Also, can we comment on the fact that he's just taller than Thorne. Like tall enough to actually see over the OL
