Yeah and I also watched "the midget" truck a much heralded safety from Alabama that was drafted in the second round of the NFL draft.
If your defense of the midget is because of THE one play, you’re barking up the wrong tree. Great play but he is now a junior and we don’t have to judge him by such a small sample size.

Looks like it's going to be combo of Tank, Williams, and Shivers for this year. MAR, as Gus said sunday, is still learning the playbook. WTH he's in his second year. If we aren't going to use him other then 4th string move his arse to safety. And Joiner if we aren't going to use him at RB move him to WR way to much size and speed to just be on the sidelines from both guys. Heck maybe Joiner can rush the passer can't get any worse then our Bucks.

Little disappointed that MAR isn’t getting the touches. I’m not sure that I believe that he doesn’t know the playbook and Tank does. MAR and Joiner are good athletes no doubt. Hopefully we can find roles for them that they like.

That's why I'm scratching my head on this one.
Mar is learning the playbook? I know that our new offense is different than what MAR learned since he has been at Auburn, but still...it can't be that different.
And as you said...How does he have problems with it and Tank doesn't?
I feel it is just that Tank makes less mistakes than MAR in practice. And Tank has shown he has most of the tools of a all round back.
And as the jawing back and forth in regards to Tank and Worm (some great names for our RBs..), they both will be needed.
Once Worm is healthy, I see DJ moving to 3rd. He is just not the go to guy that can bust one, like the other 2 can.

Maybe he's dumb?

Wish they’d thought of it in August.

I think that it’s just Gus playing his favorites. You can’t tell me that we can’t find some role for Joiner other than being the designated wheel route guy? Come on man!

I like Tank but let’s be honest. We have not landed an elite rb in yrs. UGA teloads evety yr. Are they paying their kids? Very likely and their fans afmit it. But still, our recruiting has been in middle/upper middle tier of the league.

Tank wasn’t Nick Chubb or Derrick Henry coming out of HS but he was elite

What the hell is an "elite RB" by your standards? This kid was the 6th highest rated RB and 79th highest rated player nationally by 247, 5th highest rated RB and 45th rated nationally by Rivals, and 2nd highest rated RB and 20th rated nationally by ESPN. Thats not "elite" enough for you? Let me explain something to you: the only difference between our guy and the guys at those other schools that you consider to be "elite" is that those other guys have blockers and a functioning offense around them LMAO.
Some of you guys are literally stuck in the 1970's or something where you actually think that football is still this game in which an "elite RB" can carry the team on his back regardless of what is going on around him offensively. A runningback is a fricking supplementary player, period. Imagine being in 2020 with no fricking OL to speak of and average to erratic QB play, and the complaint is that our 2nd-6th nationally ranked RB recruit isn't "elite" enough. Dear fricking god. Ain't no RB on the planet that is going to make this team good, my man.

Agree. Gus said today he is "still learning the offense." This is his 2nd year, and he can't learn this highschool offense?
So basically he is the Devin Barrett treatment. He will end up on defense or transfer.

My comment was not about Tank but our “misses” to land the elite rbs. I specifically said I like Tank; he’s one. While UGA continues to have a stanle of elite backs.

We have a rotating circus of 4-star or higher Top 250 rated RB's year in and year out. Every year we have at minimum 2 guys who can't even get on the field who were top rated backs out of HS. MAR was a Top 100 rated recruit - he can't even get a carry. Who the hell was that other Top 100 back from instate thats transferred twice now? We've had so many of these guys shuffle through and peace out that its hard to even differentiate them anymore.
The whining about RB's has to be by far the most pointless and baseless recurring complaint by AU fans. Joshua Jacobs (Alabama) and Clyde Edwards-Helaire (LSU) were both 3-star recruits, not seen as "elite" by anyone out of HS. And thats the entire point - this is a dime a dozen position that depends on other factors. Tre Mason was barely a Top 250 recruit; he only looked like an "elite back" because he played in one of the most overpowered running offenses of the last 10-15 years. Thats not a slight on him: he was certainly good and talented...but by your emphasis not good enough because there were a hell of a lot of other RB's in that class that we "missed on". IIRC we stole him away from Ole Miss.
None of these elite RB's that Georgia is fielding would make a lick of difference on these pathetic Malzahn teams.
