What about Mensah? He came into our house and lit us up. Bear an SEC team on the road with less talent. Now, turnovers had something to do with that as well, but he’s proven.
Plus, he’s smart enough to not be coached by Harsin.

From what I remember of our game he was very much an air raid qb. He never really hit anything downfield but he was quick and confident in his decision making.

The main issue is and has always been Freeze. He truly thinks he can build it through the high school ranks and is not willing to spend the kind of money it takes or offer the guarantees it takes to land top tier talent from the portal. He is more of a bargain shopper when it comes to the portal and it is frustrating.

I would modify this line of thought in a more positive way; whomever our starting QB is next year is going to make or break CHF at Auburn. Peyton Thorne was a certain type of QB (and seemed like a good kid) that had some strengths and was very repetitive in the mistakes that he made; my biggest frustration was that CHF repeatedly put Thorne in situations to make those same mistakes again and again and again.
This coming year is it for CHF, whomever the QB is (I really do not care whom it is) they better be at least competent at what CHF will be asking them to do. If they are not then I do not see how CHF can survive at Auburn.

If it it the Clemson QB, they play Texas on the 21st and are 11.5 underdogs. The portal closes on the 28th.
What if you gave Arnold a MOU and said the offer is valid on the 22nd if we dont get a guy we are waiting on. You take your other visits, wait on us and for your troubles we will give you X amount as a bonus whether it works out or not?
Its a win win for Arnold. If Clemson loses and we get the QB, Arnold walks a way with a sizeable bonus and a MOU he can use to negotiate with.
If Clemson wins, time is up and we pay the bonus and execute the MOU.

If Freeze misses on everyone and roles with the Stanford QB we will all be talking about a new coach just getting started this time next year. Almost like Freeze is looking for the buyout money to retire on
