I asked you a year or so what you wanted in a QB. You said a true dual threat. Thats what Freeze brought in now in Arnold. True dual threat, strong arm but not gigantic, fast, powerful runner. All QBs need room for improvement so im sure Jackson can improve in accuracy some. Plus I think the system can use a better short game throwing than we have.
And no the team with the best QB doesn’t win. The teams with the best lines wins. OL and DL.

I have no problem with getting Arnold. My problem is not bringing in true competition when Arnold has proven nothing that he can be a successful QB1 to this point.

That isn’t 100% true at all. It has been proven over and over that dynamic QB play can overcome talent deficits. It also has been proven that shite QB play can hold a championship caliber team back.

I do find it interesting if you just look at the 4QB rankings of 4-5 stars going back to 2015 on 247/on3 you see alot of bust.

You know, if we could have kicked FGs and the RBs/TE didn't make catastrophic fumbles, we would be pretty satisfied with the season right now. Those situations forced PT into playing hero ball, and he just ain't no hero. He was a game manager.

Corch probably has a better opinion than I do for why that is, but from a recruiting perspective to your point I am tired of signing HS QBs. Even the plethora of QBs we missed on didnt turn out as well. Deandre Francois, Torrance Gibson, Air Noland, and so on. To add to that, the transfer portal and NIL speeding up the pathway to playing time has all decent freshmen wanting to move on. So we have to accommodate that trend and lean on high floor P5 transfers. Lot of coaches can keep their bills paid through the portal.

He was benched for all of 3 quarters, and for good reason in the GSU game. The best thing for Nix was when he started going to a sports psychologist at Oregon. He was a head case, and it really helped him.

I do agree with you, a lot of similarities between Nix and Arnold.
