Blue haired Mba was Harsin's prized recruit. He might need more juco. Come join when he is 28

Where is the moneys coming from? Juco doesn't have money.
They don't need money. They need a money man from a school with money who is willing to pay a couple of kids. Or an agent to lie and tell them there's money lol.

Or here is a hypothetical for you... What if a school like Oregon with Phil Knight money just goes a buys a juco now lol. Just stash a bunch of 3 stars and see if any develop enough to call up.

I'm not saying everyone will do it, but you're crazy if you think some money bags somewhere won't give an agent a kick back to bring a couple 3 stars or some 4 stars to try to game the system.

Your hypothesis is illogical in practice. Teams win by having the best impact starters at the most important positions. Nobody wins because their 2nd or 3rd stringers are better than the other team's. Therefore, money (which is not infinite) will be funneled to the top-end where it will make the most impact. You see this in the NFL as well: there is a salary cap, so teams will build their rosters such that their highest paid players are the ones who play the most important positions. Nobody is looking to build a roster wherein their two starting Safeties are the highest paid players on the team.

Since we know that JUCO's have no money to buy players, I am assuming that your idea here is that some P4 team's boosters/NIL collective is going to pay money to have some 3-star prospect go to JUCO instead of sign with a lower-level D1 school. But why would they do that? That money that they are hypothetically investing can be used to sign immediate upgrades to the current roster via the transfer portal, as opposed to speculatively investing it into a lower-talent kid who you are then hoping will "develop" in JUCO 1-2 years down the line. Furthermore, that P4 team can simply just let that player sign with a team like UAB out of HS and let them do the development for free. Then, if the player actually develops into a good player, they can approach them their the Portal. You aren't "gaming the system" by sub optimally using the money that you have; which is why this isn't going to be a thing that happens.

When NIL first got announced I saw a few people suggest that teams like Bama would get around the 85-man scholarship limit by paying players to become walk-ons. This never happened, for the same reason why your suggestion wouldn't happen. Why would I care about having ~5-10 extra fake "walk-ons" on my roster who wont even be playing on gameday? You are paying for something that isn't helping you win.

Dont you think that is kind of roundabout? Why not pay talent available nearterm?

The risk of burnout or lack of development has to make it higher risk versus reward. A lot of kids dont even use 5th years of eligibility just because they are tired of the grind by then or want to begin their career.

Other sports could be different though. Maybe baseball?

Maybe QB in football there could be a path. QB's are pretty much babied in practice while linemen are in the pits so maybe there is a shot there.

JT, I like the hypothetical. Just dont think it pans out. If you approached me because you were needing investments into your farm system startup I'd still offer up a little.

Ok, so you are Oregon and you start up "Phil Knight JUCO" and pay a bunch of 3-stars to go there. I am Auburn. What is preventing me from poaching your players from Phil Knight JUCO? There is nothing you can do to prevent those players from transferring elsewhere. So now you are not only re-recruiting your actual football roster each offseason, but you also need to re-recruit your JUCO farm system as well.

Here's another one: one of your 3-star RB's at Phil Knight JUCO turns into a good player. But your current roster at Oregon already has two good RB's. The RB at Phil Knight JUCO obviously wants to get carries, so he's going to go transfer to some other school that will give him the opportunity to be the starter. You now actually just spent your own money and resources to develop a player for the benefit of some other team.

When it comes to the transfer portal, I think a lot of QB recruiting is going to go this way. Some with a few other positions that are big crapshoots development wise.

Yea if you can get a 5* guy, go for it, otherwise, I don’t see a lot of schools developing QB’s anymore.

BS. lol

IF that's the case, that means Michigan would have been the most talented team in the SEC. Do you think that is the case?

OSU has sooooooooooooooooooo much more talent than Tenn.. OSU beat UT worse than UGA beat them. Transitive property and shite.............or maybe the home fans made it really hard on the opposing O? Those home games were as loud as any game you will ever hear. There were times you couldn't hear the announcers. That wasn't any part of the equation though.

Well Michigan did defy home field advantage to beat Ohio State.

13-10

Does that sound like a good football score? It does not. Reminds me of two monkeys effing a football (please dont ask for details) Also reminds me of the TJ Finley game when Tank Bigsby gave the win away.

Agree. Yea the home teams won but honestly, were there any surprises? The Vols game was the only one that was somewhat surprising. The others, the better team just won. Thats basically it.

I still say a 12 team playoff is a stupid concept and not needed. 4 teams was plenty and put the best 4 teams in there 99% of the team. Honestly, the BCS put the best 2 teams in there almost every year and was probably the best system we had. There is no way a committee can pick 12 college teams and expect all the games to be competitive. ITs not going to happen very often.

Or does Ohio State have more talent than Alabama? If not, then how did Tenn beat such a superior talented team?

Did................home field advantage play a role?

I think the new talking point is "experienced talent". Kinda like Boise. They only have 2, thats right 2, blue chip recruits. One 4 and one 5. But all their guys are old and married so that cancels out the lack of recruiting talent

Its science
