Can I ask, what happened to Broderick Shull? Some mumblings about he was not even in school or playing on the team, lots of vague comments. Anyone know why there is no talk about him?

Totally, I factored that in as well. We would still have money left over. And I tiered the bonuses, I can’t imagine they are the same for everyone

Also, just doing the math, going on estimates of what some are most likely paid, and if our approximate budget is correct, we are under budget and I don’t understand why we can’t offer an absolute BAG for the Colorado OT, Seaton

I think people are forgetting that we also pay the players already on the roster. It's not like we have $30M to spend on the portal only.

Yes but I only read it before the thread got zapped.I dont actually know that.

Subsequent threads got zapped with quickness.

Thus the reason is something unspeakable, if not nefarious. ghey would make sense.

Put his name in and found this.

Used-Secret-6839 •7d ago I know this guy personally. Extremely kind person, couldn’t compliment him enough. He had some personal issues to deal with and was unable to attend classes last semester. He Was SO excited to start learning and working again. He arrived on campus, had his dorm and everything, and only then did he receive the news that he had been forced into the transfer portal. Sad situation. And unlike speculation, he’s not going where ya’ll think he is.

We already signed our 2 starting OT's so we'd be paying 2 OT's starters $ and Seaton QB $. I don't think that's the way to go. I say spend that money on somebody who can sack the qb and find a serviceable OT to be backup on the L and R.

Yes, we need to spend money on the pass rush regardless but finding a serviceable OT to backup both isn’t going to be easy. Also, yes we have paid 2 OTs starter money maybe but we were willing to pay the OSU OG starter money, although not as much as Seaton. I don’t think Best nor Skinner came at a very steep price. As far as a budget allowance for each position group, OL is where we should be under the most.

But I trust your knowledgeable opinion, maybe offering Seaton a BAG isn’t the best moving forward, idk. Just not thrilled about our lack of gains with the OL, DL and pass rush positions

For the most part, we paid players that stayed who have potential but haven’t completely broke out yet and I imagine, were able to sign them at a very decent deal. Next year might be a different story
If some of our younger players break out like I think they might, their price tag is going to be higher next season. I’m sure the staff has all these things in mind, if we do

We didn't lose all of our starters and many of them probably got a raise and non-starters like Kail Ellis probably also got a raise. All I"m saying is the coaches have to "recruit" current players too and, these days, that means money.

When I think of Shull what stands out to me other than his high rating out of high school was Hugh Freeze going to his High School in Oklahoma to watch him perform in the School Play. I have no recollection of him actually playing football at Auburn, in practices or in games.

I'm not sure why that would happen. We have roster space and wouldn't have to pay him other than scholarship money. If he left because we didn't pay him, that wouldn't equate to being forced into the transfer portal.

Yes, that is true. No dispute in that.

Like who? Who are all these returning starters you speak of? And Ellis might not even start, I’m sure he’s going to compete for a spot but I seriously doubt he got a substantial raise. Ellis is one of those guys that just wants to be at Auburn. It’s all about leverage and players that haven’t put it all together yet, don’t have very much at this time. Not that they won’t

Any word on Antonio Coleman returning? I see he’s not been picked up yet according to 247 Any other returners might come back, especially OL

I don’t think that option is there for Coleman.

Are you somehow under the impression that all of our starters either transferred or ran out of eligibility? Surely you can't be serious.
