I refuse to donate and did donate in the beginning when I thought the roster was going to be 12-13 million.
I also started out optimistic about NIL, but the growing excesses that we are required to pay these players while hard working families struggle to live paycheck to paycheck makes the whole system repugnant and corrupt. Sad part is Deuce never got to know the Auburn family. Auburn family doesn't want to be extravagant in reckless spending but by God if Deuce Knight's mom's house caught on fire I bet the Auburn family would have shown up.

Feel free to pay an 18 year old extreme excesses just for the off-chance he becomes a stud and loves you back.

Corch,
It does make one wonder what will happen with this year's high school class.
You sign them to four year deals or offer them crumbs. Who wants to spend time and effort training a kid to compete against you in a year when they flip?
In the words of the infamous Lenny (rip) on Law and Order...."Hey dont knock the whores, unlike wives at least they let you know the price up front".

I’m wondering myself. I don’t think we will see nearly as many high school athletes getting recruited. And it makes sense especially for the positions where it takes a while to mature into a college football player.
Why take a 17 year old high school OL who needs two years to develop in hopes he doesn’t take your money for two years then leave for a rival with deeper pockets.
When you can go get a 21 year old man with 15 starts under his belt at at G5 school.
I think that outside a few freak athletes who Auburn didn’t really land to many of anyway
I see the progression for most players being high school, G5 school, P4 school.

I’m done with these spoiled rotten brats.
Ole Miss is falling apart. The players found out who was getting what in NIL and Deuce is the highest paid player on their roster so the players that have been there and done that are ready to bolt. I’m sure a lot more to come from that.
Pro contracts are insane. College contracts are criminal. All for the corporate dollar.
I have no problem with these players getting some money in their pocket but becoming millionaires is ridiculous. Every revenue generating sport should give 2k a month to each scholarship player. Beyond that I don’t give a shite. Free education, a platform to build a brand for themselves, world class nutrition and training, plus incredible networking for future employment and opportunities.
I don’t watch pro sports anymore because I don’t want to watch a hitter making $225m over 10 years face a pitcher making $170m over 8 years. Who’s the loser in this situation? Especially when a normal family can’t take their kids that idolize these players to a game because it cost $425 for tickets, parking, a hot dog and drink. I’m starting to feel the same way about college sports.
When is TigersUnlimited going to charge a NIL tax on season tickets?

I have been watching more NFL and they're catching up to CFB.
Great thing is if Cincinatti blows their wad with receivers their defense pays the piper.
There is no paying the piper in the NCAA. Teams
get rewarded.

What's the story on this kid? It looks like he was a zero star out of HS, but that doesn't mean he didn't have growth at UTC.

105 scholarships. I figure we will carry around 95 players

I was thinking the same thing myself. Might even throw JUCO into the progression as well.
Since a lot of players move around year to year, why waste scholarships and NIL on a project who could bolt or not pan out when you could get a guy with 15-30 college starts under his belt.
What a weird time to be alive…

Is the SEC increasing the travel squad numbers from 70 for SEC road games. The scholarship increase doesn’t nothing if that number doesn’t increase to around 85-90 players.

If tweet fails to load, click here. According to Josh Pate, many players who have been entering the portal have been asking to RETURN to their former teams, just to be rejected.
One of the many consequences of entering the transfer portal to chase a bag instead of staying, and developing.
This will be a very interesting phenomenon in the portal, as many of these kids will ultimately not even sign to another team.
30% of kids will NEVER find a school to transfer to and will drop down to Division 2 instead…
I get it. It’s a big boy business. When you make the big boy decision to leave the school that gave you a scholarship because you are looking for “greener pastures”, you better be prepared to accept the big boy consequences of your actions.

I watched Todd play in HS a few times have family on the staff at Gardendale. He’s a good player. Was very productive at UTC this year.

This is how you know a lot of these kids are using their cousin/uncle as an "agent". Before you ever go in the portal they should have reached out to see if there is interest from various schools.
