I think he got to show he deserves to start somewhere.

Did you miss the part where he was a starter at Stanford before he decided to come to Auburn to back up Arnold?

Hate to break it everyone here but Byrum Brown isn’t the most accurate passer either. We definitely need him on the roster but I don’t see him as some super hero. If he just gives us really solid SEC QB for one season I’m good. We should not give this kid 2-3m a year tho.

We love non accurate passers at Auburn

Yes but also put our “prized recruit QB” in against an FBS team to shine. Also preserving 1 more year of eligibility for Ashton. If it’s your money like the coach should be acting like it’s his money he’s spending so he will be more conscious about spending. But as far as Daniels unless the coaching staff just doesn’t want him around at all which I suspect is the case I think Daniels owes AU the benefit of the doubt in not chasing money unless he truly thinks he can be a NFL QB which he isn’t.

He completed 66% last season and they throw a ton of downfield stuff. Seems like he’s plenty accurate.

Go watch some games not just his highlights. They throw a ton of screens and such as well which bumps his accuracy up a bit. But he does have a decent deep ball. Not elite but slightly above average. He won’t have guys running 8 yards open in the SEC either

I’m not knocking Brown but I don’t see him being a difference maker in 3-4 toss up games for us. If the better talent and better defense around him and leads this toss ups to wins I will be extremely happy but he’s probably not gonna throw for 3200 and rush for 1000 in the SEC. I’d guess throw for about 3000ish and run for about 450ish. One thing is he will be a good power back since every running back we have is tiny

With Daniels leaving, he’s a must get now though.

Gotta get Brown imo. Highest leveraged dollars towards making next year good or great. If there is another obvious solution at QB I am all ears but I think it's a move we have to make.

Agree. Kiffin had Simmons and still brought in another QB.

Oh and you can't have a QB competition if the competition is only 2QBs, only one with experience, one from HS.

Florida had 16 players planning to go to the portal, so comparatively this is a normal amount for what happens with a new coach

It’s actually the exact opposite, with Brown coming in, Daniels had no other choice but to transfer

He played well enough that he should get the opportunity to start somewhere, but, between Brown & Deuce, there's no way he was gonna win the AU job next year.

Even if Durkin had gotten the job, he would have ended up qb2 because they probably would have had to give Deuce the starting job to keep him, imo...

Gunner Stockton ran for basically that amount this season. Taylen Green ran for nearly 800 yards.

Pavia ran for ~900 yards at NM State and has been at ~800+ at Vanderbilt in back to back seasons.

There is no way to calculate the carryover from one conference to another, but you are being very conservative to assume he goes from 1,000+ to 450 yards rushing.

Compared to what? College in general? Other QBs in the SEC? Former or recent Auburn QBs?

What if he was a more accurate passer? Wtf is this even suppose to mean, that he isn’t an accurate passer? Which in that case, why didn’t you just say that, it would’ve be a lot more definitive than some obligatory “most accurate”. There is only 1 most accurate QB in the country, SEC or for Auburn.

That is such a silly statement

Not sure how you managed to formulate this calculation. A ton of things will change between now and our first game next season

Tough crowd.

Cam Coleman just mentioned he was definitely coming back in social comments and insiders are saying Singleton is a lock.

Our O line will be older (no longer have the youngest player ever). And Bear is a sure thing.

We finna to throw $1.5 mill at a portal TE (not the potential one from USF - too skinny and doesn't have elite athleticism).

We're gonna kill it.
