Do you think NM can beat one of those three teams?

Well here are my thoughts. Start JJ against W Carolina. Yes it's a cupcake at home, but he gets to go 4 quarters and ease into his first collegiate.

Then the next game is at A&M. Road games in the SEC aren't kind to freshman starting their 2nd game. But, if you have to go on the road, better to go play one of the worst defenses in the SEC. Plus more attention is on JFF than you and AU is an underdog anyway.

Then you go back home for another cupcake.

By this time you are looking at 2-1 record as a QB and you've already played on the road against one SEC team. So he goes into Arkansas and TN with 3 games under his belt.

Arkansas leads the SEC in sacks, but we have a strong offensive line that should be able to protect JJ. And Tennessee is up there with interceptions, so we'll probably utilize our ground game. We can throw on Arkansas and run on TN.

Now he's got 3 SEC games (5 total) under his belt before Georgia and Alabama.

Why do some of you have such a hard-on for Nick Marshall? I think he is improving just like the team.

I agree Marshall is improving and I hope continues to start. The only reason I wouldn't is if he isn't a 100% for a&m

I think he has a much better chance than JJ does today.

shite, I have a hard on for Nick Marshall, but I say sit him this game, and apparently that's going to happen. There's absolutely no reason to play him against such a bad team when we could beat them with Kiehl Frazier at quarterback. Let him sit, heal, and try to go next week. In case he's behind schedule on recovery, start Jeremy Johnson this week and let him get experience that could be valuable moving forward.

Let me preface this with I don't think he has done anything to lose his job but our passing game has been pretty meh outside of 1 drive vs MSU. The wr's certainly deserve part of the blame for our struggles there but bottom line is we are a consistent passing game away from being a very dangerous offense.

On a more personal level he beat out Kiehl for the starting qb job and I don't know if I can ever forgive him for that. I know Kiehl sucks as a qb but I had a dream that he didn't and it's hard to let it go.

I want to see JJ play but I don't want him to waste an extra year if he's only going to play in this one game. We are not likely going to have a big enough lead for him to play alot in but one more game.

But if he is willing to burn it, if he is a better passer than NM, and the coaches are going to let him play alot the rest of the way with a chance to take the starting job then burn it. If he is a better passer it might hurt us with White but it might help with DQ and some other big WRs. There is no telling what our QB situation will be in 4 years anyways. But if they are going to burn it just to have him running wildcat like KF was then I don't think its worth wasting.

You have to assume moving forward that they will give JJ a lot of time in the Fl Atl game and some designed plays for the 5 remaining SEC games.

Surely, they would not burn his RS for just one or two games, regardless of any injuries to other qbs.

Even if NM is able to play for the rest of the year, this injury will likely plague him the rest of the season with chances of further injury.

We need JJ to be ready to go.

Seems to me like NM injury is a lot more serious than we are led to believe or that JJ has been outperforming him in practice(I have actually been hearing that the past couple of weeks).

Marshall with a bum knee does us no good considering his best attribute is his running. Jeremy's time is now

To be fair, it won't take all that much to trump NM performance-wise. I think he was a band-aid, not a solution. He just isn't accurate. Of course that's only my opinion and some will hate me for it.

Maybe the coaches will let their decision out today and not wait until game time. Their isn't really a big advantage to keeping it a secret against WCU. They won't really know what to expect from JJ either way. I don't really know why CGM would say they would have to make a decision after practice if they really wasn't sure yet.

I am just wondering if the coaches have even said anything about JJ playing at all or just been talking about NM maybe not playing and then everyone is just assuming it would be JJ playing and not JW. But it is the time when they are making their decisions on all the other RS's.
