When was the last time we have watched 3 receivers block downfield the correct way?
Agree and refreshing to see. Having the right coaches with experience coaching these positions helps. Coaching the kids up is great...so looking forward to this season for a change...

Was thinking it probably put QB controversy to rest for a while.

Finley wasn't near as ready as I had hoped.
Finley looked terrible. He missed his check downs, threw poor passes, and just didnt look like an SEC Qb. Hope third string gets some looks next week.

Agree with all of this. Was not impressed at all.

Very refreshing to see the team well prepared and execute the game plan. Agree with all that's been said about coaching. I think it was the punt at end of first half after we called timeout to stop the clock that the receiver (J Johnson maybe) backpedaled and fell down. Coming off the field, coach was coaching him up about the first step turn and run to the ball instead of the backpedal. He showed him the proper technique 3 or 4 times. Great to see the execution of the 1min offense that followed. Thought we had enough time to maybe run one more play with 7sec on the clock, but game was well out of hand and probably was a little confidence boost for Carlson after the missed PAT early. Really excited to see how this team builds on this throughout season.

I loved the way Harsin handled the team (and himself) on one of the TD drives.

We were down inside the 5 on like the 2. We come out in like a 2 tight i-form and shifted the fullback and left TE. We end up getting a penalty and the camera goes straight to Harsin. He didn't have that goffy arse look on his face like he smelled a fart. He wasn't complaining about the call. He wasn't chewing anyone out. He just shook his head and got back on the headset.

Two plays later, he runs the exact same play (I'm assuming, because it was same set and same motion) and we punch it in. That lets me and the players know that he has confidence in what is called and the player's execution. That, in turn, gives the players the confidence that their coach believes in them to be able to execute the gameplay. Even if the "element of surprise" is gone.

I feel like in the past, Gus would have saved something like that for just the right moment. And had it been flagged, he would have made a scene on the sideline and never called it again because the cat is out of the bag. Once the element of surprise is gone, he has no faith in either the scheme or the players.

Just a little subtle difference I noticed and really liked what I saw.

my biggest observation......we are a much better coached team that we have been.

I know Akron is terrible, but we played focused the entire game. Bo looks like a totally different player. We use something called a tight end.

Our schedule is brutal. We will have some bad days ahead...but this staff will "coach up" our players..............this I am positive of.
