JUCO OL Markell Bell is set to visit next weekend.

IIRC, he’s a guy that’s going to be eligible to transfer before the season starts

Most jucos we’d be after this time of year would be ‘24 guys. Sounds like he’s good to go academically now

Auburn offered on April, 28th and has put the pressure on Bell, according to On3's Auburn Live, and wants Bell to make a decision and if that were to be Auburn to have him on campus by the end of the month. Bell would be not only on the roster for fall camp if he were to enroll in May, but would also be ready to go for summer workouts which could help Bell who hasn't touched a D1 weight room or conditioning program.

Looks like he could be on campus by the end of the month. Or at least that is what Freeze wants.

He would officially be apart of our 2023 signing class.

And I believe we were trying to get him down right now, Im assuming to get in some summer workouts and shake that JuCo off him. Kid is a giant 6 foot 9 345lbs.

So what is the board's take. Thompson announces he is in the portal while at the airport on his way to Auburn, I jest but quickly. He comes down has a good long visit....and nothing and then Thorne announces he is coming down.

Coaches want to talk to both? I would think Thompson has other options and if he is asked to wait to talk to Thorne he might just say see ya later. And not a certainty we would get Thorne either. Heck of a chess match and there aint a lot of pieces left on the table.

I think most of us agree (except Jville) that either would be an upgrade, and both have their issues whether it be injuries or a bad last season performance.

Ole Hank may surprise us, I know he came from a small school but he has a great grasp of looking at the defense and the right touch depending on the throw.

Stultz from Rivals retweeted it and he and Hugh are boys... so I feel pretty confident.

One thing that's kind of interesting to me. Even though I favored Thompson... Thorne, Geriner, Brown, and White are all very similar QBs. Not clones or anything, but similar.

Still have to wait… probably Saturday, Sunday, or Monday announcement. Depends on when Freeze wants him to announce

Yes. For Freeze and Montgomery you have to be able to read and run the RPO game. If you have some mobility is a plus. And the RPO is exactly what it says it is a Run Pass Option, so you hand it or throw it depending on the “read” post snap. Not so much different from what we saw under Gus with the zone read, that was either give to the back or keep run for the QB depending on the post snap read.

Thompson is too risky at this time with the shoulder surgery.

If Freeze and Montgomery think it's a fit, then I trust them on it. No denying he is light years better than anyone we have now.

Throne’s twitter has “Christ Follower” in his profile.

Brother Hugh has it in the bag.

Agreed but Geriner came a long way in the spring. The last 8-10 practices he was probably the best QB on the team.
