Some bad news, 3* OT Eagen Boyer committed to Penn State.
Some folks may not like it, but as bad as shape as our OL depth is I always figured we would be taking 3 or so transfers next year and bringing in 4 or so HS players we like. Would have been nice to lock this guy up, but not that big of a deal if you are only planning on taking a few from HS that you really like.

247’s ND insider says Alabama or Auburn, as well. So we’ll see if he visits or not

Sources tell me @NDFootball QB Tyler Buchner is expected to visit @AlabamaFTBL as soon as tonight after entering the NCAA Transfer Portal today

It wonder if a visit to The Plains is in order as well. It would make sense since he’s already down this way…

Tyler Buchner is NOT good.

Let Bama have him, he’s a putrid passer. Marshall flat dominated ND and ND’s O looked like an abortion with Rees and Buchner.

I’d like that at Bama.

I concur. ND fans aren’t sad to see him go one bit. I’m still holding out hope for McCall.

Guys guys, step back from the ledge. He announces he is in the portal via his cell on his way to Tuscaloosa to visit his former coach....he gone.

Gotta believe the coaches have a plan for a QB that is not public. All this effort, all this recruiting, and without a competent QB its all for shat, as will be the less than stellar recruiting for next year when they see our offense sucks because no one is competent enough to show the real potential of the schemes.

That aint gonna happen, there is a plan, has to be.

Blind faith is fine but it won’t stop anyone from being concerned

I do agree, though. He’s done a lot to get competitive this season and without a QB it’s all for not.

Buchner is a white Ashford and honestly is a good runner but I think Ashford has the edge there.
Both putrid passers.

Why do you think they brought in Hartman?

Plan may include play with what you got this year

The QB we need just may not be in the plans for this season. Everyone better be prepared for it.

Hope there is an answer but don’t just assume it’s all going to work out hunky dory.

I’ve been prepared. We have an ok roster. Nothing great. Got some good character guys it seems but we are a few years from having top tier talent. Harsin shite the bed recruiting and set us back 3-4 years. I think Hugh can have us competing by year 3 but now is the time to get talent and get the talent in the schemes. And I want to see the schemes I don’t want some modified scheme. Go get it done boys. Even if Walker White is the answer it’d still ‘25 before you’d feel comfortable with him leading the team.

Always been more concerned with the WRs than the QBs. We sure could use a Sammie Coates, Duke Williams, Quan Bray, CJ Uzamah, Ricardo Louis combo right now.

Pink posted that Zaquan Patterson, Kamarion Franklin, and Terrence Hibbler are all going to OV to Auburn, he didn't mention when.

He also posted that 4* IOL Paki Finau from Hesperia, CA put us in his top 7( along with AZ, AZ State, Penn St, UCLA, Utah, and Washington)and will take an OV, we're one of the main schools he wants to see for himself. He said we're becoming a real player for him.

Here's a quote from him from 247:
quote:

“I don’t have a date yet but I’ll be visiting Auburn for an official visit. That offer was amazing since Auburn is a big time SEC school and that’s obviously a great conference. I like coach Thornton (OL coach), he’s the one who offered me and I’m really interested in learning more about the program. I’ve never been that far before for a visit so it should be fun.”

According to JLee, Auburn has backed off 4* OT Jac'Qawn McRoy. McRoy said Auburn hasn't communicated with him in a while, he has 4 OVs scheduled to OM, UK, Arkansas, and Oregon. If I remember correctly he was linked to Arkansas a while back.

Reading the comments some people have posted he has character issues. TIFWIW

He was pretty close to being kicked off Clay Chalkville’s team at one time, but I haven’t heard what happened.

He’s really liked Arky for a while, at one time it was Auburn or Arky.

JLee says WR Transfer Jordan Hudson canceled his OV. Going to SMU

FWIW, it was rumored initially that SMU would be the destination but it seemed like he might actually be open due to the Auburn OV

Auburn is also trying to get Buchner on campus Thursday after his Bama visit

When Bama and Auburn both back off the top rated OT in the state its safe to assume something is up.

He's either got an old coach or some family there or something I think. The rumor I heard was a big stack of cash and a job for his mom. Would have gladly taken him, but he's not worth breaking the bank over.

Not sure. These Texas kids love Texas, though. SMU was second in his recruitment initially.

The nice part is that he’d have plenty of eligibility. You’re not going to catch a lot of freshman in the portal with a lot of snaps under their belt on a playoff team. That was my main interest there

Still need help there.
