There is no doubt in my mind that you are right about Maye but the question is was he worth it. They are on a two loss streak to Virginia and Gah Tech.
Take that money and throw it into the pot, give each player 75,000 per year and then you can say you made a difference to the kids. I bet May would have higher quality teammates then plus he would still have his Milos deals from third party.

They are getting those dollars is what I am saying. I get you are wanting to also add are they worth it, and it is a good discussion.
I am just saying a player like JHunter could be receiving an offer of 750-800K to stay next season and based on his troubles of this year, it could make sense.
I have some personal knowledge of how this is starting to play out because of my nephew. The NIL numbers are starting to rise. College teams are offering players NFL minimums or higher to keep players one more year especially at position of need. For some it doesn't make sense and others it may be enough to stay and improve their stock for the following year.
Some may be worth it and others will not be.
Side note on Maye, he helped his ol to pick up a NIL deal with a company he already was signed by.

Yea, I have a feeling the real NIL money is going to start getting focused more on retaining a guy for an extra year and less towards the high school recruits. They'll still get something of course, but the bigger deals will be for big transfers or a returning starter.

That is exactly what is happening and you're right about the transfers as well, because they have some stats and history of their worth.

What is surprising is the thinking that Jarquez is coming back. I think he can be drafted in the top 3 or 4 rounds. He also has a ceiling in the Freeze offense because Freeze wants to spread the ball around.

Players are getting much more then we think. I know they have very little expense but even shite players are driving $80K autos and thousands of dollars of jewelry. 100's of dollars of shoes. Thousands on clothes.

Who is shelling out this dough from our collective for our 7-5 team?
75,000 * 85 players
6,375,000 What boosters have this hanging out?

I didn't say every player. I said some shite players are because of evaluation.
But I would assume for football we probably need around 15m a year to be "elite". Probably another 6-8m to be elite in basketball. And 2-4 a year for baseball to be competitive.
You're not getting a top 40 player less then a millie. Top 200 probably between 300-500k.
What was it that aTm spent on their class which was rated the top class ever. 32 million. Probably not the best investment but that defensive line looks really good and deep.

I'm just saying if you think 50K a year is swinging players to come to Auburn you have no clue how much money is flying around these players.

I was asking the board troll since he seems to know who knows the numbers and who doesn't.

I think he has PTSD now. Too many fights over which cloud is higher with the board joker will do that to a man
