But we do have to realize recruiting is really a 24 month relationship.

I’d like to believe that but I don’t think so. You either have the money to poney up or you don’t. It looked promising after big cat but it’s starting to fizzle out. It appears we don’t have the money to land top recruiting classes that could push us into the national title picture. There’s too much evidence showing we’re coming up short in the majority of these 5 star battles in Football and Basketball. (Bidunga, Coleman, Bolden, Ace Bailey, Franklin, etc.)

And I’m not saying we’re not going to be a competitive team and get our fair share of elite guys, but we’re not about to rip off some sort of run like Alabama, Ohio State, or Georgia where we’re landing 5-6 five stars each cycle. Same goes for basketball. We might get one five star each class but that appears to be the ceiling.

Told y’all. Give that man his melt and move on, he hasn’t had much to complain about. As evidenced by him needing to loop in our basketball whiff in order to make his point

Last season he said the standard was 2 top 100 guys. This year it’s more than 2 5*’s + recruiting on UGA and Bama’s level, all before Freeze has coached a game

I can’t recall him posting here during the Harsin years when we actually had real shite to melt about. Y’all take all that information for what you will, but the sooner you move on from his gimmick the better

Agreed - I'm not expecting that though. We're currently at 2 5 stars in this class. No reason we can't get 2-3 per class. That's good enough to be top 10 year in, year out. Being top 10 consistently with good coaching should put us into the playoffs regularly which is the goal IMO.

We are going to have a monster close when we win 9 regular season games this year. Going to be Flipmas this year.

We have two five stars signed in one basketball recruiting class? That's news to me.

I said we need at least 6-7 top 100 guys each class to truly compete for titles consistently.

Did we have that in 2017 or 2019 or 2010 or 2013?

eta: In case you didnt know, Auburn won the SEC West in all four years. Thats 4 years out of 10. Seems consistent

Me looking around at our two five stars in one of Bruce's recruiting classes.

And I'm pointing out the general trend in Auburn's recruiting in both major sports that we don't have a lot of money to land boat loads of top talent. We're capable of getting a few guys here and there but it doesn't appear like we have the funds to land enough guys to truly make runs at top 5 recruiting classes in either major sport.

This was all in response to the guy who said it takes 24 months to form relationships with recruits. Maybe that was true in the past but probably not this day in age when the money is free flowing.

I’m just laughing at you trying to bring basketball into the discussion to prove your point. Didn’t mean to throw you off your game homie. Keep doing your thing

You have absolutely zero clue what money Auburn has to spend on recruiting. None. You are talking out of your arse, again

How many players have we missed on Bolden, House, Coleman?, Franklin?

If those are the guys you are missing on your pissing on the right mailboxes walking through the neighborhood.

Incredible job by the staff to have only been after this class for 8 months now. We have a fricking 5 star WR commit from Foley that was a flip from Bama.

Like I said OL and DL are much different relationships. I’d love to have Franklin but he isn’t and wasn’t a must get for this class. Next year you better get some studs on both sides of the line of scrimmage. Plus regardless of who we picked up this cycle we were going to have to get 2-3 OL and 2-3 DL from the portal

You just answered your question in your post. All of those years are wildly spread apart. We haven't had an era where we consistently competed for national championships. And why are you listing 2019? We were an afterthought in the championship conversation.

Clearly not enough to land the majority of five stars we pursue.
