Simmons may not be the most athletic, but looks like one of those old school great college MLBs that could be all-SEC based on his smarts and steady play.

It feels good to go in the recruiting board and seeing mutts melt over Auburn recruiting again.

They still cant help claiming other schools are buying targets they lose out on even though its perfectly legal, and UGA buys more than anyone else. Thats a proven fact.

Why did Philips even start leaning UGA all of the sudden. It was NIL money they were throwing at him. We countered, and won. The playing field is leveling out pups

It really is. If Auburn can put together a strong season under year 1 for Freeze, it will only get better

UGA fans I know seem legitimately concerned that we are a sleeping giant that has started to wake up. Hope that continues to prove true

He looks extremely athletic. He's just white. Watch his film and pretend he is black and he jumps off the screen

Simmons has tenacity for sure but so did Powell Gordon. Its a different monster covering SEC TE's and backs. Let alone getting off blocks from O linemen. Kid does move well though.

Riddick quotes( via 247)
quote:

“It’s great,” Riddick said. “I like the school. I like the program. I like everything. It was great to be back. I had fun last weekend and it was great to be back.”

quote:

“It was fun,” he said. “I had an amazing time with the coaches, with the players. The whole nine yards. It was great. I wish I could come back.”

quote:

“Basically, they said they’re going to develop me as a player,” he said. “They want me here. I’m going to work my hardest to see what Alabama and Georgia are talking about. If they’re not really talking for real, I’m coming home.”

quote:

“Things have changed a lot,” Riddick said. “A lot. I can tell you that. Basically it’s family. That’s one thing I’m big about is family. The family thing has changed the whole nine yards.

“At Georgia I was feeling at home and I felt like that was my family too, but this family is something different.”

Will make his final decision on July 26th

quote:

“I’m not going anywhere else,” he said. “That’s it.”

What are Auburn’s chances?

“They’ve got a big chance, a big chance. I’ll tell you that.”

Gordon played DE in HS though. He rarely played any actual standup LB. Simmons is actually playing a standup LB and covering people so he has experience in the position. Gordon had to actually learn the position as well as adjust to college.

Simmons is wanted by legit D1 programs with limited space. Powell… was not

I did think it was fine taking a flyer on Powell. It was a bad class, he was an Auburn kid, and we frankly needed bodies. And as far as I know, he’s not with the program anymore so we moved on quickly

He moves well, an has an incredible knack for finding the ball, and laying a boom. He just doesnt look that fast to me considering he competition. Not slow, but not top end speed.

regardless, my point was I want this kid and think he's All-SEC caliber based on the way he plays.
