We like him more because he’s close to the same level of player and a hell of a lot cheaper.

We like both and would take both and figure the rest out later. There was a bunch of priority recruits up on the balcony at the new football complex with Freeze and Phillips was one of them, so that tells you what the staff still thinks of him. UGA is selling him on playing ILB and we we're saying jack until now. Guessing we will tell him he can play either.

If we can drag this out we have a chance to win him over, but if he commits soon its UGA and I highly doubt there is any chance of flipping him.

You get what you pay for. thUGA has been paying like crazy for players even before NIL. Guess what? They won 2 natties in a row.

3* OG Kahlil House and 3* WR Bryce Cain are going to pick up some AU predictions. As well as 4* (‘25) RB Alvin Henderson. Should see those roll in soon.

More guys that Auburn seems to be trending with: 3* LB DJ Barber, 3* OL Jameson Riggs, 3* LB Wyatt Simmons. Also seems like there’s serious momentum with 4* WR Mario Craver and 4* LB Bradley Shaw.

Stating the obvious: lots of 3*’s, at least by the On3 composite which is what I’m primarily using nowadays. Half of those 3* guys have a 4* rating on rivals or 247, and some are clearly 4* guys waiting on eventual ranking bumps (Simmons, Barber, and Riggs).

All good news right now, I think, contingent on what we pull in later

Quote for Janga (re: Bryce Cain)

quote:

Walker White: “Man he was good. He just was flying. His dad, who was a quarterback at Miami, he came up to me, he was like ‘man you got a pistol.’ I was like yeah, I got a pistol, but I mean, this guy’s got wheels on him man. He was just really fast, and I got to meet Bryce. He’s got a really good attitude. He was smiling, easy to talk to. I’m actually going to hit him up after I leave. I’m going to try to get him here and get some dogs around me. Bo Nix once told me, ‘You’re only as good as the guys around you.’ I’m just really trying to work on that.”

Especially the ones upfront.

I think the one knock on Waller is his height. He is listed as six feet and a half inch to six feet two inches, Im guessing the former is closer to correct.

Watch his tape, yes he speed rushes the outside, but also has a nice set of inside moves. And most impressive he holds the edge on a lot of running plays, ie he is just not rushing to sack the QB and get on a highlight reel. Means far less substitution and a lot more flexibility.

Im just annoyed with the Phillips deal because we found Cinderella, put the slipper on her foot, she traded them in for some high heel pumps and a short skirt and hit the corner.

If I had to chose Id take Waller, and most services have him ranked higher. Now if he could somehow persuade Kamarion (small chance) and Hill (good chance), we be cookin.

Hill just would be ideal for this offense, he is a load, but most of his highlight reels are playing wideout or the slot, he had some hands.

Tried to tell y’all this kid knew offers were coming. Auburn offered like a month before Bama and UGA. He wasn’t waiting around, weeping. These guys know when they’re this good.

We’re fortunate that he really likes Auburn. IMO, if this was year two of Freeze, this would be locked up. I still think we’re in it. And I think there’s a world where we could take Waller and Phillips.

Definitely not writing this one off. I’m worried if he commits to UGA but NIL gives Auburn a chance in this one when signing day rolls around

Yes Jonesy you did tell us. Dont get me wrong I think he would be excellent. Dont know about linebacker anymore if he truly has grown to 6foot 2 and 251 pounds and still has a year of high school. Definitely definitely edge or strongside if he keeps growing.

Lots of good news you posted, sounds like Cain has turned some heads on early camps from some other sites.

Good stuff on the other fellas!

Getting this guys wrapped up is big for being able to focus on our top targets without having to worry about missing a few. Get the depth part/bulk of the class taken care of and then land a couple big dogs and we will be good.

With the effort that Freeze and his staff are putting into recruiting, if it can get done, then it will be done at Auburn (meaning recruiting at a championship level). There is no way that someone can put more effort into it than he is. The dude is relentless. If his efforts don’t pan out in the next two or three classes, then it just can’t get done in the modern environment at Auburn.

Caleb Holmes signs with Pitt. Wonder if he had a committable from us. He supposedly had offers from us, LSU, Tenn, FSU and chose Pitt.

He committed to Pitt. I’m sure you meant that, but it’s worth clarifying.

He was going to OV last weekend. Then as the weekend approached it became clear he wouldn’t be.

My gut tells me that a Georgia kid with all those offers doesn’t commit to Pitt if he truly has those options. But who knows?

Yes committed. Thats what I was alluding to, Pitt isnt a bad school, but you have an offer list like that, they are the least of those.
