I’ll believe it when I see it. Dude just visited thUGA, but Auburn put him on the map as a recruit. And he was close to pulling the trigger a few months ago.

Right, close to pulling the trigger and never did. Then UGA turned the heat up on him. Such is life; it's going to be pretty hard to recruit against their defensive sales-pitch at this point.

Well, Riddick and Bolden are pretty hot on visiting Auburn. So our defensive sales pitch must be pretty good too.

Bolden is going to UGA and if Riddick flips it will be to Bama most likely (last OV is to them).

We should just shut the football program down.

We’ll see. I have a little more faith in Freeze than Haskins and Gus.

They are definitely working the NIL circuit. Makes you wonder where this is headed.

So there are four guys who want 200K apiece and you sign them. Two of them pan out and they decide to hit the portal and make 300K. Basically you developed them and it cost you 800 grand. Would you not be better off just saving 200K and taking the two out of the portal? Once you take them out of the portal they cant transfer without sitting out. And you know they will work out.

The last superbowl winners had more free agents than ones signed out of college, just food for thought, cause that is where we are headed, at light speed.

I agree that the high school guys’ stock is plummeting. You can take a guy that has already proven themselves in college from the portal.

Is there anybody here whose interest or engagement in all this hasn't several waned significantly over the last couple of years? I just don't see how this is sustainable.

That is why in a short while there will be contracts tied to NIL. Meaning you leave you pay some back, pro-rated etc...it is only a matter of time.

NIL had made it weirder, for sure. But these kids also aren’t really getting what we’ve been told they’re getting. Almost none of these deals are guaranteed and almost all of them are voidable for numerous reasons. Regardless, NIL still one of the most important components of each recruitment and the very top guys are getting good deals.

All of that said, Meta’s scenario above didn’t help us with Phillips. Riddick very well may flip but signs point to Bama. And that hurts us with Phillips, unfortunately.

I do think we’re gonna swing some top guys late fall like last year when they have all of the key information on the table from every school. And we’re gonna need to see momentum on the field

Transfer market is a big deal. It’s gonna take a few season to fully realize how well we can rely on it, though. Hard to pull rabbits out of your hat every year in that market

Chiefs and Eagles built their core teams through the draft. Not that it has anything to do with college and NIL.

Didnt check them, when I was curious a while back I looked up the rams and it was more free agents than drafted by them. But if you think the progression of NIL and college has nothing to do with the NFL as a business, well bless your heart, its gonna be a long life.

And "core team" is kind of like climate "change" count them and get back to me.

Not sure how we got here, but can we steer away from climate change?

I know we’re in the butthole of the off-season and whatnot but let’s try to focus this thread a little

I heard a sports show on state kite radio a month or two ago and they said it will end up garnering the biggest portion of NIL. 1. Most likely you will have an idea of what they can do on the field. 2. Due to transfer rules they are more limited in leaving after they come to your school. We will see, but their discussion and reasoning made sense. Whether it holds true or not we will find out in the time frame you gave I believe.

Just remembered, they said collectives are starting to dial it back on what they are giving high school recruits for the very reason they can leave after year one and realize no ROI.

Recruiting guy on War Rapport said the staff likes Waller from Mississippi more than Phillips at Jack. Idk if I believe that.
