Excellent day for AU!
None of our commits flipped and we filled needs nicely.
Still got one more announcement to go but another Top 10 class for AU!

Kouandjio, Calloway, Foster, Yeldon, Liner, and now Evans...this shite isn't going away for a while. Still like the class, but this shite is getting old.
Yeah, we can spin it however, but it's yet again another major fail where Bama kicks our shite in on NSD. The fact we had everyone running around calling him a lock doesn't make any better.

When's the last time Alabama lost a hometown recruit that they wanted?
Honestly don't know, and really don't care. If someone doesn't want to come to Auburn, I really don't give a flying frick at a rolling doughnut about them.

I still think it was UCLA and Bama collectively shite talking the star position and pumping up the Will LB position.
When you have Bama plus an experienced NFL staff all praising a position for the NFL and then you have the Star which isn't necessarily used much/not direct translation it kills those NFL dreams

We need to quit putting our eggs in one player's basket. Even if we feel good about a player who's telling our coaches all the right things, we should have multiple big name options for positions of need like LB.

Yep happens every year.

Not this guy.

How many of us wanted to go to school in our home town? I wonder how much that had to do with his decision.
If he had gone to UCLA it would make total sense. But to "leave" for Tuscaloosa is laughable.

The counter to that is we got Bessent and Roberts from them. We ended with a #7 class with players like DQ, Roc, Tre and others. It's a good year when we compete for an NC and have a stellar class. Screw what Bama does. We're going to get ours.

What does that have to do with anything? Do you really think people predicting him to Auburn made him go to Bama?

Or did you get your hopes up based on that?

Exactly just need to remember we could be like the Tubbs era or the current Arky era of top thirty classes. All these four five star guys turn out to be drama queens sometimes.

To be fair, most Auburn fans didn't want him at Star either. It was an interesting choice to recruit him for that position. Ultimately it probably did us in.
But I can't really fault the coaches for not wanting to sell the guy a position they didn't want him to play

War Eagle all,
Cuss for my post count, not an alter - I have been in Japan for 20 years since I graduated AU in '94.
I was born in Lee Co. Hospital (before it was EAMC) and grew up on Green St. in Auburn. My mom was a science teacher at AHS and dad was a Botany Prof. at Auburn since before I was born.
I absolutely do NOT BLAME RE for wanting to get out of Auburn. At all. I made it all the across the Pacific to get out.
But here is the thing - it will take him a few years to appreciate Auburn. It takes getting out to appreciate it. All of it.
So, yes, it hurts, it sucks, it stings, but it is what is and it is what will be. I hope all of us can celebrate our awesome class and all of the commits who desire to be AU Tigers. We really do have an AUsome class coming in.
Best of luck to RE - he will need it. Gus is driving this bus. Me gutz sez that RE will get the worser end of this deal in the end.
And.....friggs to everyone. Porn bomb coming in 5-4-3.....

I don't think it was as much what we were selling him on as it was his two other finalists pushing hard the same position while simultaneously attacking ours.
I think if it is say Alabama, LSU and Auburn, we potentially get him because LSU and ALabama aren't both pitching the Will LB spot and hyping it up.

So does this mean moncrief with his size will play star instead of safety?
